The annual Wanee Festival announced their initial set of artists today with the old-school heavy hitters of Allman Brothers Band and Furthur taking lead on the lineup this year. Both bands will be performing two nights so the sit-in potential on this festival is absolutely insane. That’s obviously what the promoters go for when they throw parties at this spot; my friends said Bear Creek was just a constant stream of sit-ins and sets with more guests than you could keep up with notating.
The fest returns to Suwannee Music Park in Like Oak, FL the weekend of April 19-21, and it’s a doozy if you’re a jamband fan whatsoever. Tickets go on sale this Friday. Read on for the lineup… >>>
This is a week to give thanks. Thanks to family, friends, good health, good food, and…..multi-night runs in NYC! Yep, for some reason, this week in NYC shows seems to be the week of two- and three-night stands including Allen Toussaint, the Cure, moe., M83 and Robert Randolph & the Family Band, just to name a few.
Here’s the breakdown of the week’s concert highlights with some video accompaniment… READ MORE
I am very excited to be making my first trek down to Live Oak Florida in less than 3 weeks for the Bear Creek Music Festival, and the anticipation has only increased now that the schedule dropped last week. Nick Irving went to Catskill Chill this past weekend and filed this report for us… >>>
One of the music festivals that can often get overlooked amidst a sea of the bigger OSL’s and ACL’s of the world is the upstate New York gem known as Catskill Chill Music Festival. We’ve written about the festival in the past and would be remiss to not mention this mini-festival again in 2011. This year’s lineup is stacked with some jamband middleweights like Umphrey’s McGee, but following right behind are the untz-Bisco stylings of Conspirator and the Dead-based nostalgia funk thing called 7 Walkers (with the Grateful Dead’s Bill Kreutzmann at the helm). Dumpstaphunk with Nikki Glaspie is on the lineup as is Perpetual Groove, Big Sam’s Funky Nation and Break Science — all LMB favorites and a sure-fire good time if we were able to attend this festival in the flesh.
If you’re going, get in touch as we’d love a report or two of how everything goes down. Read on for the full lineup and don’t miss this one if you’re within driving distance. The schedule is live so you can start planning your attack now… >>>
