Women

Post image for Tour Dates: Women Release New Album, Fall Tour Dates

Women is a band you may not have heard of, but I’m a quick fan after sampling their first self-titled EP release and I’m just now digging into their new album, Public Strain. Here’s my favorite track (so far):

Women – “Eyesore” [MP3]

Anyone else digging on this? The band plays tonight in Europe for the next days but makes their way state-side in a few weeks after rolling through Canada (eh!). Read on for the dates. READ MORE

The lineup for the Pitchfork Music Festival just got a bit better with the additions below:

Newly added bands as of right this moment: Art-rock exhibitionists , rootsy dudes , epic Danes Mew, Vancouver fuzz buckets Japandroids, Montreal folkies , wiry post-rockers Disappears, and an indie rock band made by men called . Check out all the acts set for the fest thus far below.

Tickets are going fast. I may need to decide to use some miles and get myself to Chicago for this. The lineup looks too good to pass up for me, especially for the price.

The lineup for the Pitchfork Music Festival got a few additions the other day, with , Fucked Up, M83, Black Lips, and a few others added to the already amazing festival roster. I really hope I’ll be able to attend this festival, with the Friday night “Write the Night” series seriously exciting the hell out of me. For those that haven’t heard about this already, check it:

A reminder: On Friday, July 17, we’ll launch the “Write the Night: Set Lists by Request” series, in which four bands will all play fan-selected set lists. Here’s how it works: You, the audience, vote on which songs all four bands– , the Jesus Lizard, , and – will play. When you buy your ticket, you’ll get a confirmation email. That confirmation email will include a link to a page where you can vote on which songs from each band you want to hear. The bands will tailor their set lists accordingly. (Also worth mentioning: This will be the Jesus Lizard’s first American show in a decade.) Voting ends June 12.
