After releasing two back-to-basics albums of more traditional roots- and folk-rock tunes, Wilco is about to release its most sonically adventurous record in a decade. The Whole Love, which you can hear on NPR Music’s First Listen series, is full of strange textures and unexpected twists, mixed with candy-flavored pop tunes, meditative acoustic cuts and noise-rock jams.
This Sunday, Sept. 25, Wilco will highlight the new record in a full concert, webcast live on NPR Music from the Merriweather Post Pavilion in Columbia, Md. You can hear the entire performance, beginning with an opening set from legendary English roots- and country-rock singer Nick Lowe, beginning at approximately 7 p.m. ET. Wilco is scheduled to begin at 8:20 p.m. ET. Listen here online or on-the-go via the NPR Music iPhone app.
Wilco played a full set last night as a part of the “Live on Letterman” webcast series. They tore through a few choice cuts from their upcoming album, The Whole Love, along with some older live staples and classics. You can check out the performance in all its glory:

STS9just announced that they’ll be broadcasting their two Red Rocks shows for fans at home via iClips.net, but sadly it won’t be for free like a variety of the other iClips broadcasts that we typically like to post around these parts. The band is playing this Friday and Saturday down in Austin at Stubb’s and heading to Chicago from there to rage proper on the North Coast Music Festival. I may be able to catch their gig at the Congress, which would be rad considering I’ll be in town for a wedding. Score.
This year sees the band kicking off their Fall Tour in classic style at Red Rocks Amphitheater on September 9th & 10th with a great line-up including Snoop Dogg, Up Until Now, Savoy and LTJ Bukem. iClips is extremely excited to be there to bring you all the action once again LIVE, and in HD, from Red Rocks. Stay tuned for more details coming soon including price and show times.
