Post image for Skrillex: “Mothership Tour” Dates, ACL Highlights

We might as well warn you that we’re probably going to start blogging about quite a bit around these parts. Although not everyone in my crew shared my sentiment, I was pretty psyched on his set at ACL Fest this past weekend. It was my first time ever seeing the youngin’ and he did a pretty solid job of slaying the mid-day festival tweener crowd that was heavied up for this set well ahead of the 5pm scheduled start time. It’s still a bummer I didn’t get to shoot it, but our trusty LMB NOLA Editor did most of the photo heavy lifting and brought back some of this awesomeness.

He’s got a huge tour booked that kicks off this Thursday night in San Diego and runs all over the country through mid-December…given that he’s gracing the next cover of Spin, we’re pretty sure he’s going to have a busy few years ahead of him. Let’s hope he keeps the drops nasty and doesn’t party himself out too quick. Read on for the dates…

Post image for North Coast Music Festival: Chemical Brothers, Umphreys, Bisco, Flying Lotus and more…

Last night during the second set of Umphrey’s McGee on Couch Tour, we got an announcement from keyboardist Joel Cummins regarding a festival that the band was going to be a part of in Chicago on Labor Day weekend. The festival is called the North Coast Music Festival and it’s going to be some serious heat for live music that weekend in the city. To get a lineup like this in Chicago starts to provides options to people besides the behemoth that is Lollapalooza, and the smaller and more eclectic and banging mix for your buck seriously puts this in good contention to be a standout festival of the year. Let’s hope for some bomb collaborations.

Check out their Twitter page here and follow along for the official lineup announcement. We have it on good authority that this is the lineup we’ll be seeing when it gets dropped.
