The lineup for Treasure Island Music Festival was officially released today following last week’s leak, and it’s exactly what we expected to see.
The gorgeous, panoramic views of the San Francisco Bay will serve as the backdrop for LCD Soundsystem and Belle & Sebastian when they headline The 2010 Treasure Island Music Festival presented by Noise Pop and Another Planet Entertainment. The fourth annual festival, which takes place on Treasure Island over two days — October 16th and 17th — will carry on the tradition of featuring some of the music world’s most exciting artists.
This year’s stellar line-up, in addition to LCD Soundsystem and Belle & Sebastian (making their first Bay Area appearance in four years!), is a who’s who of the dance/electronic and indie rock worlds, including The National, Broken Social Scene, She & Him, Deadmau5, Kruder & Dorfmeister (live) (with one of their first U.S. performances since 2001), Miike Snow, !!!, Superchunk, Surfer Blood, Die Antwoord, Little Dragon, Four Tet, Rogue Wave, Ra Ra Riot, Monotonix, Phantogram, The Sea & Cake, Phosphorescent, Holy Fuck, Jamaica, Wallpaper, Papercuts, Maus Haus and The Mumlers.
As I mentioned before, I’m pretty sure that me and my crew will be in Las Vegas for the three-night Phish run that’s been on the rumor mill for a bit. I’d love to do both because this lineup looks pretty rad, and bands like The Sea & Cake don’t often make their way out to the West Coast.

The gang at Noise Pop headquarters announced late last week that Treasure Island Music Festival will return this year on the weekend of October 16-17, 2010. As always, the festival is held right in the center of the Bay Area on Treasure Island and features indie rock/dance tunes and tons of hipsters smoking weed. Good times.

The lineup for the Treasure Island Music Festival here in the Bay Area just got announced; it’s pretty solid if you ask me. READ MORE

The schedule is here.
We’ve got one pair of weekend passes to give away to one lucky fan that wants to bring a friend. If you’d like a chance at the tickets, drop a comment on the post here and I’ll close comments and pick a winner very soon. Like immediately.
To get you excited here’s some live Spiritualized to jam to while you think of something witty to put in the comments.

Announced late last week, the Treasure Island Music Festival lineup looks pretty exciting, especially for someone like me who just moved to the Bay Area. I don’t remember hearing much about this last year but this year looks like a doozy. Check out the lineup…

I’ll definitely be there for this. Day one features one of my iPod favorites for the past year or so: TV on the Radio. These guys have a haunting sound that just becomes so infectious to me, and I end up getting struck on a few of their tracks before moving on days later. It just really grabs me. Plus, I’m excited about getting to see new stuff for me like Justice, Hot Chip and CSS.
Day two is an obviously strong one with The Raconteurs slotted as the headliners, and add Fleet Foxes, Spiritualized and Tokyo Police Club and I’m set. I’ll wonder if Vampire Weekend is worth skipping, then I’ll let go off my nonconformist side and just enjoy the light, airy pop music (with African rhythms! it’s world music!). I really can’t wait for this festival, though. We’ll be planning on covering this day in and day out.
