Post image for SnowGlobe: Full Lineup (Big Gigantic, Fishbone, SBTRKT & more)

The lineup for this year’s has been announced!

As we wrote about earlier this week, the bands that have been added on this lineup reflect a bunch of the teasing the promoters did to entice people to buy tickets to the three-day NYE 2012 outdoor celebration in South . We’re psyched to see middleweights like , , , Emancipator and all on the bill; read on for the full set of artists that will be appearing. READ MORE

The organizers over at have started “leaking” out the names of the other bands fit for the bill. While they say it’s not official yet, this post on Twitter implies that they’re clearly not really concerned with making it obvious or not. They tweeted out names of bands and links to YouTube videos they like, and the official press release will be coming tomorrow.

Then they said this:

In addition to the already announced headliners of , , and The , the folks putting on the festival will (probably) be adding the following artists:

Sometime today the official headliner announcement is going to come down from the team at SnowGlobe Music Festival, a New Year’s Eve three-day music festival celebration in South , CA that just jumped on my radar. I am all over this festival, though, so I was quick to jump in with their PR team and ask for the deets ahead of the rest of the general public info leak.

Thanks to their team getting me the info just in time for the release of the morning Tahoe papers, I’ve got it on proper and official authority that , , and are all set as headliners for the three day event. For any Bay Area fans that are looking for the untz that weekend, the team putting on this festival is bound to deliver a full-on rager of a lineup with at least 40 more bands scheduled to be announced.

We’ll be rounding up all the details on New Year’s Eve shows early next week to make sure everyone knows where they should be planning to rage face. Some decisions seemed easy before and now they seem more difficult…

Update: here is (likely) the rest of the lineup…

Summer in NYC is now in full swing and we’ve got a busy week of local shows already upon us. I’m getting stoked for two shows this weekend, which should both be stellar. Friday night I’ll be heading out on the Hudson to join on “the Big F-ing Boat” (aka the Rocks Off Concert Cruise). Saturday is all about catching rock out at the Bowery Ballroom, which is why I posted the video above from one of their Austin shows in march. I’m really digging their new album D and can’t wait to see them bring their dual-guitar madness to the Bowery this weekend.

Also, we just got word that will be doing a free, “secret show” at LPR tonight at midnight…which is pretty rad if you can pull off the late-night midweek show. Read on for shows we recommend this week…

Note about Concert Listings:
For this week’s post, I used my “old standby” for concert listings, Jambase.

As we mentioned previously, the Music Festival is making its return in 2011, after a two-year hiatus. They’ve just announced their initial 2011 lineup, with Death Cab For Cutie, , , , and on top of the bill, and a slew of buzzy indie bands and electronic acts rounding out the weekend festivities. The event is slated for October 8 and 9 and will be back at Markham Park in Sunrise, Florida, just outside of Ft. Lauderdale. Check it…

The start of the 2011 festival season is already well underway for our friends that are rocking Jam Cruise, but the true festival season really won’t start picking up until we see in April and Jazz Fest soon after. But the promoters for got out ahead of those announcements and released their 2011 lineup earlier today…

Wakarusa always commands the most attention the week before Bonnaroo announces their lineups, the only leg-up they really ever have for continuing on in their own tradition moving forward (considering the always-competitive space). But this year I think the promoters of the festival really outdid themselves and booked a solid lineup. They’ve tapped , & Relentless7, and to headline the festival and they’ll be supported by a solid crew of mid-size touring bands keeping the lineup as eclectic as ever. A few others that stand out for me are Sharon Jones & the Dap-Kings, Lotus, the New Deal, Budos Band, Trombone Shorty and tons more really…

Expect a lot of overlap between this festival lineup and many of the others you’ll see in the next month or so. This gives me hope that we could see a My Morning Jacket headlining slot at High Sierra ’11…
