Umphrey's McGee @ Catskill Chill 2011

Because they love their fans so much (heh), Umphrey’s McGee put up their Super Bowl Village set as a free download on their blog. I’m downloading this right away; I haven’t dove into any live UM in a while.

It looks like will be returning to the stage with a new album and set sometime this year. They’ve already been added to the Bestival Music Festival in the UK.

Rolling Stone has the exclusive on the return to from a band I’ve always loved a ton: . They recently started tweeting that they were putting together new music and RS has the new track called, “Are You Ready?” In the interview they mention that they will indeed return to do some shows at some point, but not until they finish a full album worth of material and rehearse some of their old stuff. Sasquatch 2012 logo

The Sasquatch Music Festival has released their 2012 lineup, and as usual, it’s a doozy. Headliners included , , , , and , all amongst a virtual who’s who of the best independent artists playing today. Yesterday at was amazing; the weather was perfect all day, the music was fantastic and I was in an abundance of crew featuring many of my good friends for 100% of the day. It’s hard to do better than that, but we’ll all give it a shot with today’s third and final day of the festival. Tomorrow I hope a 7am flight to Chicago for three nights at UIC in Chicago, so holler if you’re out at the festival today or if you’re going to be at UIC. >>>

The lineup for 2011 was announced tonight, with , , , , , and a variety of other eclectic acts topping the bill along with all the awesome swamp funk standards like Zigaboo and .

At long last, the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival has announced it’s lineup and like usual, the fest offers a wide array of artists from today (Arcade Fire, & ), yesterday (Kid Rock,Lauryn Hill, & Wilco), the day before that ( & ) and long ago from a beautiful time when great music rang out on pop radio (Gregg Allman, Jeff & Robert Plant). Furthermore, the great tradition of showcasing just about every functioning New Orleans musician continues (Galactic, Neville Brothers, Irma Thomas, Dr. John & Allen Toussaint to name a few).
