The lineup for this year’s has been announced!

As we wrote about earlier this week, the bands that have been added on this lineup reflect a bunch of the teasing the promoters did to entice people to buy tickets to the three-day NYE 2012 outdoor celebration in South . We’re psyched to see middleweights like , , , Emancipator and all on the bill; read on for the full set of artists that will be appearing. READ MORE

The organizers over at have started “leaking” out the names of the other bands fit for the bill. While they say it’s not official yet, this post on Twitter implies that they’re clearly not really concerned with making it obvious or not. They tweeted out names of bands and links to YouTube videos they like, and the official press release will be coming tomorrow.

Then they said this:

In addition to the already announced headliners of , , and The , the folks putting on the festival will (probably) be adding the following artists:

Sometime today the official headliner announcement is going to come down from the team at SnowGlobe Music Festival, a New Year’s Eve three-day music festival celebration in South , CA that just jumped on my radar. I am all over this festival, though, so I was quick to jump in with their PR team and ask for the deets ahead of the rest of the general public info leak.

Thanks to their team getting me the info just in time for the release of the morning Tahoe papers, I’ve got it on proper and official authority that , , and are all set as headliners for the three day event. For any Bay Area fans that are looking for the untz that weekend, the team putting on this festival is bound to deliver a full-on rager of a lineup with at least 40 more bands scheduled to be announced.

We’ll be rounding up all the details on New Year’s Eve shows early next week to make sure everyone knows where they should be planning to rage face. Some decisions seemed easy before and now they seem more difficult…

Update: here is (likely) the rest of the lineup…

For fans of the Disco Biscuits, Memorial Day Weekend means that you’re hanging out in Colorado taking in the festivities surrounding the annual Bisco Inferno celebration. The official party is at Red Rocks tomorrow, with , , The and helping out the band with an all-day affair at the famous amphitheater. Tonight the band plays in Denver at the Odgen Theater, which follows up a pretty successful start to the weekend with yesterday’s flash mob and rage-fest show that got people into the Bisco mood. Oh, and Barber is back and clearly looking to satisfy some critics. READ MORE

Post image for 2009 Halloween Concert Round-Up

Like New Year’s Eve, is another holiday that a lot of bands choose to celebrate in style. There’s just something about mixing the live concert experience with all the fun and choas of that really brings out the freaks. While most bands typically play into the vibe in some way, touring bands often approach as an opportunity to really create a unique live music event. Just as we did with our New Year’s Eve concert round-up, we’ve compiled a list of Halloween concerts that will be going on this weekend (see below for the long list).

We have also noticed a few bands that are taking a similar approach to Halloween as by doing some sort of “musical costume” and either covering another band’s music or playing a full show of thematic covers. Here are a few of the more interesting “musical costumes” we’ve seen announced this year:

monolith

After finally getting to see Red Rocks for the first time with the four-night run, I’m instantly drawn to the Monolith Festival given the location and the lineup this year. There’s some really solid stuff on the bill, but there’s enough overlap in the coming months that I think I’ll get to see most of these artists in another setting, albeit nothing like the iconic Red Rocks Ampitheatre. I had an incredible time at the venue itself, so throw in some of the best indie bands of the moment and you’ve got yourself a solid two-day festival. READ MORE
