The lineup for Coachella 2012 has been posted! This year’s festival will be bringing headliners The Black Keys, Radiohead, and Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg to the two-weekend affair down in Indio, CA. Other LMB favorites on the lineup are Refused, M83, Flying Lotus, SBTRKT, Bon Iver, Girl Talk, DJ Shadow, and the newly-announced reunion by At The Drive-In.

The Black Keys @ Music Midtown, Atlanta 9/24/11
In prep for the release of their new album, El Camino, The Black Keys have announced a slew of North American arena dates for 2012, and they return to Saturday Night Live for a performance this weekend (Steve Buscemi hosts). Following their SNL appearance, they’re also confirmed for a more intimate show at NYC’s Webster Hall on Monday, Dec 5th (details on tickets are still forthcoming, but the show will be streamed via MTV Hive). In other Black Keys news, frontman Dan Auerbach is reportedly recording an LP with NOLA legend Dr. John for a 2012 release…which is pretty damn rad. READ MORE
78 degrees, sun, enormous park in the middle of the Midtown neighborhood in Atlanta – those are some helpful ingredients for a music festival. It also helps when the festival goes off like clockwork, with great food and not too many long lines. But what really makes any music festival a success is the music itself, and that ingredient certainly didn’t disappoint yesterday at Music Midtown, Atlanta’s major festival that was returning for the first time in six years. Being a recent transplant to Atlanta, Music Midtown is a festival I’ve heard a lot about but never had the pleasure of attending. The event previously ran annually as a 2-day and later 3-day festival from 1996-2005, in various locations throughout midtown and downtown Atlanta, and was a huge success. In its later years the festival drew over 300,000 people and brought acts such as Tom Petty, The Killers, Bob Dylan, and Dave Matthews Band to Atlanta. In comparison, Bonnaroo typically draws around 100,000, and Lollapalooza, a similar in-town festival, draws around 160,000. Music Midtown was obviously a huge success and a cornerstone of the Atlanta live music scene for some time.
And Music Midtown returns to Atlanta this Saturday, Sept 24th, choosing scenic Piedmont Park as the location. The lineup for Bonnaroo 2011 is now official.
Eminem is the name at the top with Arcade Fire, Widespread Panic, The Black Keys, Buffalo Springfield and My Morning Jacket all getting in line right behind him. Oh, and Lil Wayne. Christ a milli.

After an unusually long wait and months of speculation and anticipation, the lineup for Coachella 2011 has finally been announced. Headlining this year’s festival will be Kings of Leon, Arcade Fire, Kanye West with the Black Keys, Animal Collective and The Strokes supporting right behind…
This year the organizers have announced a special attention to art and collaboration with some of the festival performers, perhaps something resulting from Phish Festival 8 and something that maybe caught the attention of the Goldenvoice organizing team as they worked to plan this year’s festival. They’re dubbing this initiative The Creators Project, something that will likely enhance everyone’s Facebook status for weeks to come following the festival. I’ll be excited to see how this one comes together.
This year, at Coachella, The Creators Project will be collaborating with select headlining acts and curating a series of major art installations on festival grounds. Additionally, we’ve worked with Coachella to bill three of our favorite bands from China, Korea, and Brazil. These international musicians come from our very own Creator ranks — a diverse group of artists, musicians, filmmakers, and designers all using cutting edge technology to realize their visions.
