Austin City Limits is gearing up for a huge television season as well as one of their best music festival lineups ever. They recently announced that Jimmy Cliff, Spoon and Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue would both separately be joining the ranks of the musical elite that have graced that stage, and four more heavy hitters were just announced as well…

Austin City Limits has four scheduled tapings around the dates of the :

: Wednesday, October 6th
: Thursday, October 7th
: Saturday, October 9th
: Monday, October 11th

These tapings will be held in the Austin City Limits studio (as usual), and any announcements regarding ticket availability and giveaways for the public will be posted on the ACL blog approximately one week before each taping. The sets will air as part of ACL’s 36th season on PBS, premiering this fall. Exact airdates are TBD – we’ll post details as we get them sorted out. We have a few more tapings in the works, so stay tuned for word on those as well…

Post image for Arcade Fire to Play Madison Square Garden, Spoon Opens

We just updated our post from last night on Arcade Fire and their upcoming tour dates; the band just announced that they’ll be headlining in on August 4th. Spoon is set to open the show.

Update: more Arcade Fire dates have been added (with Spoon as the openers).

I’m pretty excited to see the Arcade Fire news these days surrounding their upcoming release on August 3rd of their third studio album, The Suburbs. I like the first two tracks that surfaced and I’m eager to hear more, but really I’m excited most to see them on the road and playing festivals here in the good ‘ol U S of A. I wasn’t fully sold on this band until I got to see their live show, and ever since I’ve been a silent fan hoping for more shows and less hype surrounding this highly influential Canadian powerhouse of a band.

More show are coming…well, for the Canadians, at least. The Montreal Gazette is reporting that the band will be returning to the city, Sherbrooke, for two shows a week from now, way ahead of any of their numerous music festival appearances this summer (including a heavily rumored slot at Outside Lands). Let’s hope a few bloggers bring back their thoughts on that one. READ MORE

This one’s got a bit more balls than “Written in Reverse” (which you can watch here). Pretty solid.
