Radiohead

February is always an exciting time of year to plan ahead for music festival season and this week has been a busy one around these parts. Everyone else is getting busy, too; it looks like the Bonnaroo website was just relaunched with a new set of 2012 graphics and a promise of an artist announcement coming sometime next week.

And yesterday, the internets came ablaze with a pretty shockingly close rendition of the artist lineup (new artwork!) we would expect out of the Bonnaroo 2012 lineup, even if it’s an obvious fake complete with a typo or two and a few big calls that really could be false (but would be ill if it actually went down, like Paul Simon doing Graceland in its entirety). This dude on the Inforoo.org boards was the genius behind it all (via Hidden Track).

It still got me psyched to see what actually comes out next week, and the three headliners on the top of the bill were exactly as we’ve seen confirmed elsewhere (like Radiohead and Red Hot Chili Peppers) or heavily rumored and plausibly likely (Phish).

So we know that much (kinda): Radiohead and Red Hot Chili Peppers for sure. Phish probably. The Word definitely. Skrillex likely (heh). And sure, why not Randy Newman? Belee dat! READ MORE

Post image for TOUR DATES: Radiohead adds dates around Coachella

With the news yesterday that would be one of the two-weekend headliners at 2012, it was only fitting that the other West Coast dates finally started to get announced. They’ve added dates all over the world, actually, but the West Coast dates are the ones I care about. I’m a little bummed of the band playing in San Jose as their choice for the Bay Area, but driving a few hours to see this band will forever be a safe bet. Can’t wait to see their new stage show this year.

The lineup for 2012 has been posted! This year’s festival will be bringing headliners , , and and to the two-weekend affair down in Indio, CA. Other LMB on the lineup are , , , , , Girl Talk, DJ Shadow, and the newly-announced reunion by At The Drive-In.

Epic.

Post image for TOUR DATES: Radiohead Adds Summer 2012 European Dates

It’s always exciting news here when we see that has expanded their 2012 tour dates to now include some summer dates in Europe. There’s still room for the band on that lineup(s) as well as the clear gap in the beginning of June when the band will probably be one of the major headliners at again. Yes, that’s a guess only and I “may not have facts to support this” but it feels right given what we’ve seen hit the announcement wires thus far.

Post image for JAZZ FEST 2012: Rumors, Guesses, Wishes & More

The is now in the rearview and the relentless fall concert schedule is starting to slow down (although one could easily keep themselves busy on the live circuit until NYE) and therefore it’s time to start speculating about the 2012 Jazz Fest lineup. Hard to say who will be at the top of the bill when the lineup is announced but since we’ve probably got a over a month until the lineup release (or two months if released on last year’s timetable), here’s a handful of artists (however unlikely some may be) who could conceivably be at the Fairgrounds come Spring time. Post image for Radiohead Announces 2012 Tour Dates, No NOLA Date As Of Yet
Hopefully, they’ll be filling this odd dates-only tour out into a more expansive U.S. trek soon, something that hasn’t happened since 2008 when the band capped a big stateside tour in Santa Barbara in support of In Rainbows. There are three Texas dates and no stop in New Orleans (or Nashville for that matter), so hopefully the band is holding off on that announcement, or perhaps could be headlining Jazz Fest (if JF can bag Arcade Fire in 2011, surely they can top that with Radiohead in 2012, right?), one can dream right. We will definitely keep an eye out for new announcements, but for now, here’s what’s confirmed:

Radiohead played Late Night with Jimmy Fallon last night and gave a computer-assisted loop folk jam duo performance of “Give Up The Ghost” as their first time ever on the show, a beautifully haunting track from The King of Limbs and a great choice after the band’s recent appearances in NYC on The Colbert Report and Saturday Night Live (no repeats!).
