Post image for Podcast #071: Hippie Workout Mix, Vol. 5 – BP BPMs

It’s been way too long since I posted a full-fledged Hippie , so what better day to post a new one than on the day of the NYC Marathon.

For Volume 5 in our Hippie Workout Mix series, I decided to go back to an old stand-by for workout tunes: . BP’s live shows always provide an intensity that’s just perfect for these mixes. Although they’ve only been gradually ramping up their touring schedule since reuniting a coupe years back, the limited shows they have played have been stellar. Here’s hoping they can expand to a denser touring schedule in 2012, because more people need to get a taste for this stuff in the live setting. Speaking of which, they just announced a decent-sized East Coast New Year’s run. READ MORE

Since I recently started posting again, it was only a matter of time before I had to post a new podcast. Although I definitely have some newer mixes in the works, I decided to finally put the finishing touches on a older mix that has literally been years in the making: my “Bisco Bliss” mix.

I think I originally started putting some tracks into a “starter playlist” back in late 2007 or early 2008. Then I completely forgot about it until recently rediscovering the playlist while re-vamping my music libe. Rather than selfishly continue to hang onto it for my own ears, I decided it was finally time to complete the original idea as a full-fledged podcast.

So, I present to you Podcast #069, the Bisco . READ MORE

Post image for New Podcast from This Week on Lot

I just realized that I’m neighbors with Emilie of This Week on Lot, as we just attended the same Plants and Animals show this past Tuesday at the Indy. And speaking of This Week on Lot, they just posted their new podcast today. I’m halfway through the listen so check this one out. For some reason I keep forgetting to download these, so I’m all subscribed now (go here to get the podcast in your iTunes).

TWoL 31: Knee Deep in Brisket [This Week on Lot]

We start this episode off by doing a quick recap of this past week’s musical outings; Emilie went hipster-wook and hit up Plants and Animals. Not quite a the lot scene, but the show rocked HARD! If you see this band coming through your town – GO! Steve kept it OG-wook and spent the night with a few fellow twibe members at DSO in New Jersey (keep it dirty) and reports that there was no shortage of wookery at the raging Shakedown out front.

I had no idea how timely this post was yesterday, but apparently was thinking on the same level when they put out their latest podcast last night. It’s the full, soundboard PA set that the band did when opening for Jay-Z at the Pepsi Center, and it sounds awesome.

podcast :: live (pa) from the pepsi center [sts9.com]

This past March STS9 had the honor of sharing the stage with JAY-Z at Denver, Colorado’s Pepsi Center in March of 2010. Here you will find the first ever SBD release of an STS9 LIVE PA SET, in it’s entirety, and for free to share with the world! We thought it would be a the perfect way to put the final stamp on an amazing evening of seeing 13,000 strong feeling the energy of STS9 in one of the country’s premier arenas. We hope you enjoy!

This is the stuff that Dude House dreams are made of.

Well, I’ll be posting another Big Cypress podcast later today (I’m working on the final mix-down right now), and it’s been a long time since I’ve opened up my podcast downloader. Let’s see what’s worth mentioning…

Miss Tinkle’s Overture, Women Wine and Song > Utopian Fir > Kat’s Tune > Utopian Fir…

I can assure you that the opener is indeed epic as listed on the podcast description. Utopian Fir is one of my favorite classic UM tunes so I’m sure this podcast will get more than one listen.

Our good friend Hans over at Here comes the flood has begun podcasting. Hell, Widespread Panic just began their podcast, so I think Hans joined the ranks during a good time. The first podcast sounds good so far; I’m halfway through the crowd singalong on Gov’t Mule doing Lively Up Yourself and I feel like I’m there singing along.

And by the way, I cannot wait for Jam in the ‘Dam 2006! See you there, Hans?
