The annual announced their initial set of artists today with the old-school heavy hitters of and taking lead on the lineup this year. Both bands will be performing two nights so the sit-in potential on this festival is absolutely insane. That’s obviously what the promoters go for when they throw parties at this spot; my friends said Bear Creek was just a constant stream of sit-ins and sets with more guests than you could keep up with notating.

The fest returns to Suwannee Music Park in Like Oak, FL the weekend of April 19-21, and it’s a doozy if you’re a jamband fan whatsoever. Tickets go on sale this Friday. Read on for the lineup… >>>

First up in my long list of “pay attention to this…” announcements is the earliest, I believe; Superfly Presents announced the lineup today for their “Superfly during Jazzfest” series and will welcome , , and for three, different shows during this year’s festival. There will be plenty more announcements on this front in the coming week and we’ll be following it heavily over at LMB NOLA. Head over there for the full info on these Superfly shows and much more to come on Jazz Fest in the coming weeks…

We recently mentioned that members of the North Mississippi Allstars were reuniting with John Medeski and Robert Randolph as “” for a few rare shows this December.

Well it looks like the North Mississippi Allstars have put together a more complete tour schedule, with dates before and after the Word reunion in December and in early 2010. The tour includes key cities throughout the U.S. as well as Jam Cruise, but it sounds like they plan to add even more dates soon. Word…

jam cruise 8 logoThe lineup for Jam Cruise 8 was announced earlier this week, and it’s really quite impressive as always.

Departing Port Everglades in Fort Lauderdale, 8 will set sail January 3-8, 2010 on board the beautiful MSC Poesia and will visit the tropical ports of Ocho Rios, Jamaica and George Town, Cayman Islands. With 5 days and nights aboard the ship, there is plenty of time to kick back with friends and see an unbelievable amount of music.

Who’s going?
