I’ve been pretty inspired by Pretty Lights lately and I’ve been rocking his music ever since seeing his set at this year, but I’m bummed that we didn’t get the new Pretty Lights with drummer extraordinaire . He adds a whole element to the sound that really matters when you’re catching it live. Let’s first see how they sounded together at earlier this year… READ MORE

Post image for Giveaway: North Coast Music Festival in Chicago

North Coast Music Festival is set to kickoff their inaugural year next weekend in ’s Union Park, and we’re got FIVE pairs of tickets to giveaway to the lucky fans in the area that can make it out for the event.

For those that haven’t been following, the festival is a newcomer to an already packed Chicago festival circuit, with Pitchfork Music Festival in July and Lollapalooza in August. Add to that a plethora of street festivals around town and the fact that you’re driving distance from Alpine Valley and Deer Creek, you’ve got yourself a pretty action-slammed summer musically speaking. Not that you could afford tickets to all of those events or make time for it, but talk about choices. So many you were on the fence with this one, even though the headliners of Umphrey’s McGee, Disco Biscuits, Nas & Damian Marley, Moby, , and Lotus are really worth the ticket price and definitely deserve your attention on a warm, autumn afternoon in the great Windy City. That’s where we step in… READ MORE

Last night during the second set of Umphrey’s McGee on Couch Tour, we got an announcement from keyboardist Joel Cummins regarding a festival that the band was going to be a part of in on Labor Day weekend. The festival is called the North Coast Music Festival and it’s going to be some serious heat for live music that weekend in the city. To get a lineup like this in Chicago starts to provides options to people besides the behemoth that is Lollapalooza, and the smaller and more eclectic and banging mix for your buck seriously puts this in good contention to be a standout festival of the year. Let’s hope for some bomb collaborations.

Check out their Twitter page here and follow along for the official lineup announcement. We have it on good authority that this is the lineup we’ll be seeing when it gets dropped.
