Get planning on your folks!

The rumors already started hitting my texts last night with thoughts that may be at MSG for a two-night NYE run with potentially a few other dates ahead of that, but not everyone’s going to be in NYC or wanting to travel around those dates. Or maybe they’ll have some pre-NYE competition (duh) with the likes of some other pioneers of a side of this scene known as Disco Biscuits, who were smart and got their NYE show announced early. >>>

who have already been covering songs from Pink Floyd’s classic album Dark Side of the Moon — have subtly announced that they’ll be taking their Dark Side tribute a step further. The concert poster (shown above) for their upcoming NYE show at the Cox Center in Oklahoma City includes a small note at the bottom that reads “Starting at midnight: A special performance of ’s Dark Side of the Moon.” That should be killer.

If you can’t be in Oklahoma City for New Year’s Eve, check out our massive NYE concert round-up for plenty of other great options.

NYEheader

We’ve been following this for a while now, but today we have official confirmation that Phish will be playing its New Year’s Eve run of shows at American Airlines Arena in Miami on December 28 – 31.

The band has opened up its pre-sale lottery via Musictoday, so get your ticket requests in sometime before Sunday, November 15 at 11:59 PM, EDT. Tickets are $50 each, except for 12/31, which is $60.

If you’re lucky enough to nab tickets or just want to join the festivities, it looks like Vally Music Travel is offering hotel & shuttle packages for the event.

All very tempting.

So…who’s going to Miami?

Over the last few weeks, we’ve seen a bunch of new shows announced for New Year’s Eve, so we gave our massive New Year’s Eve Round-Up a nice update today.

A few notable additions include: in SF, in Hotlanta, and tentatively confirmed for Miami. Lots of good concert options to ring in 2010!
