Post image for LMB SF: This Week’s Concert Calendar – Oct. 24-30

Happy Monday, folks. Everyone out here in the Bay Area is recovering emotionally after the transcendent experience that was this year’s concert down in Mountain View, CA. While I couldn’t make it myself this year, most of my crew made it out for a day and reported back nothing but smiles and heartfelt appreciation for live music and what brings to the table each and every year for this special event.

As always Neil Young made a set of special appearances each day, and footage is up from the feed so you can see the sit-in he did with as well as this shot of him and doing “Pocahontas.” Look at the band reaction when Young joins them on stage… READ MORE

The Bridge School Benefit is an annual non-profit charity concert held in Mountain View, California every October at the Shoreline Amphitheatre. The concerts are all organized by musician Neil Young and his wife, Pegi. Proceeds benefit The Bridge School. The first concert was in October 1986, and, with the exception of 1987, the concert has been held every year since. As a practice, but not a rule, the performers use acoustic instruments. Young also personally performs every year.

Tickets will go on sale September 16th through Live Nation. Information about ticket sales, pricing, seating charts, parking, etc. can be found on the Live Nation site.

Update (9/7): Beck is actually confirmed for both Saturday and Sunday’s shows now.

2/15/11 update: The Official Bonnaroo 2011 Lineup has been announced.

Summer Festival wanderlust is in full force this week as , and an expected Jazz Fest lineup are released this week…

The powers-that-be just kicked the Bonnaspeculation season into overdrive by offering up their first in a series of clues that will lead up to the great big initial announcement in about a month’s time. Many of these cloos were misleading last year, and it seemed like the festival was just pulling our legs on a few. But after all, has always been a great marketing force (even in the first year, when they relied almost strictly on word-of-mouth), always adding something new to keep people like myself intrigued year-in-and-year-out The first clue immediately brings to mind the great , what are your thoughts?:

Clue #1 (courtesy of @Bonnaroo): A trip to space thwarted by a speckled lad’s demise. A watershed moment otherwise.

Not that Bonnaroo requires something like a big anniversary to pull out all the stops, but if the transformative Fifth Anniversary was any indication (2006–My personal favorite lineup, featuring Radiohead, , My Morning Jacket, G.R.A.B., and Oysterhead), this year AC Entertainment and Superfly will be pulling out all the stops. So here is my completely speculatory list of artists who might be appearing on the farm in from June 9-12 (one can wish, wonder, and wander towards the Good Road): READ MORE

Wilco at Millennium ParkOne of the reasons I’ve been so out of the loop in recent weeks is that I’ve been packing and moving from my first apartment here in San Fran. I’ve wanted my own place for a while now. I wanted to start setting myself up in a more proper setting to record podcasts (and/or start practicing drums again). Having my own apartment is definitely the way to go in helping to make some of that stuff happen. At any rate, moving has meant that I now have my own control over the multimedia setup in the household. I’ve got cable going again, which means that I get to actually watch TV while some good stuff is going to be coming back soon (uhm, Lost anyone?). I’m also quite a fan of , and I’m psyched to see that he’s starting to feature musical guests on the show.

Coming up this Thursday, one of my my , Wilco, is going to be the guest on The Colbert Report before they head to Madison for a free concert in support of Barack Obama. Then they’re going out on the road with in December.
