In case you missed it, Phish dropped a little nugget (only 35 minutes worth) of a preview from the Hampton/Winston-Salem ’97 release that’s due out in December. The 7-CD box set is bound to get tons of airtime on this here blog as the band’s team continues to feed us bloggers with little treats to share with the rest of the fans. They put out a ton of previews when the Live in Utica and Coral Sky DVDs were put out.
And for the first teaser from the box set, the band put out the insane “Mike’s Groove” opener from the second night of Hampton from the run…

That moment they start to hit on around 13:00 minutes, arguably the early discoveries of sonic force that would become moments like “What’s the Use?” — man, that is the good stuff. This is a must-download.
Happy Friday, dudes.
Yesterday at the Bridge School Benefit, Neil Young came out and joined Arcade Fire for a great cover of the Young classic, “Helpless.”
It’s not surprise we’re huge Marco Benevento fans ’round these parts, and he’s got a huge tour coming up on both the East Coast and he starts a West Coast jaunt on December 1 in San Diego. And don’t forget he’s doing some shows with Garage a Trois in Colorado during December and then he’s on Jam Cruise with the boys in Surprise Me Mr. Davis. Busy as always.
He recently put out an MP3 of his cover of Pink Floyd’s “Fearless” which was recorded during the Me Not Me sessions.

Try not to boogie to this new video release from Brooklyn’s Rubblebucket. Off their latest release, Omega La La, the band hit the ground running this week by releasing their video on Consequence of Sound and releasing the track “Came Out of a Lady” over at Paste.

I’m definitely digging on this video; time to pick this album up and give it a proper listen front to back. Read on for the band’s current tour dates… >>>
Some kind fellow has already uploaded the Animal Collective show from the Great American to the Internet Archive, and the sound is pretty good for an audience source so it’s a good new download for your iPod if you want to hear the latest and greatest from the band. It should give everyone a sense of what sort of sounds the band is experimenting with for their new album (when and if that should happen) and what type of set they’ll be playing for the Coachella crowd.
