Moogfest 2010: Halloween in Asheville, NC with Massive Attack, MGMT, and Thievery Corporation

Moogfest 2010 was just announced this morning. Set for Halloween weekend in Asheville, NC, the three-day festival will bring together , and Thievery Corp. as headliners celebrating the life and work of Robert Moog. More acts to be announced soon, and tickets will go on sale on July 30th.

AC Entertainment – creator and producer of the Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival, Big Ears Festival, and Vegoose – is proud to announce MoogFest 2010, a three-day festival celebrating the innovative vision of sonic pioneer, Robert Moog, to be held Halloween weekend, October 29-31, in Asheville, NC. Confirmed artists Massive Attack, MGMT, and will be joined by over 25 additional internationally renowned artists performing in multiple venues throughout downtown Asheville, including the Asheville Civic Center Arena, the Thomas Wolfe Auditorium, and Asheville’s renowned world-class club, the Orange Peel.

I’d like to see some of the jamtronica acts added to this to really promote that side of the scene. If you consider that most every music festival is finding room for an UNTZ-based late night, even bluegrass festivals these days, then this is a logical step and something the Orange Peel will likely help to support.
