Because they love their fans so much (heh), Umphrey’s McGee put up their Super Bowl Village set as a free download on their blog. I’m downloading this right away; I haven’t dove into any live UM in a while.
It looks like Sigur Rós will be returning to the stage with a new album and set sometime this year. They’ve already been added to the Bestival Music Festival in the UK.
Rolling Stone has the exclusive on the return to from a band I’ve always loved a ton: Luscious Jackson. They recently started tweeting that they were putting together new music and RS has the new track called, “Are You Ready?” In the interview they mention that they will indeed return to do some shows at some point, but not until they finish a full album worth of material and rehearse some of their old stuff. Radiohead played Late Night with Jimmy Fallon last night and gave a computer-assisted loop folk jam duo performance of “Give Up The Ghost” as their first time ever on the show, a beautifully haunting track from The King of Limbs and a great choice after the band’s recent appearances in NYC on The Colbert Report and Saturday Night Live (no repeats!).

In the wake of Pink Floyd week on the Jimmy Fallon Show, I’d just like to thank all the musicians who performed covers.
As I said on Tuesday, I thought The Shins version of Breath was an inspired and beautiful interpretation.
The Foo Fighters were terrific, great energy, great musicians, great fun to play with, thank you guys.
MGMT, playing Lucifer Sam brought back lots of memories of Syd and those early years, I thought theirs was a very moving homage to him, also nice yellow trousers and lobsters and knots.
Wish you were here!! Dierks, I was truly moved. I loved the fiddle, the pedal steel, you sang it beautifully, Hank Williams would have been proud of you.
And finally Pearl Jam’s Mother, what a fitting conclusion to the week. Thank you all it means a lot.
