Haiti Relief

Like a number of other bands, Dave Matthews Band is lending a hand to help the people of Haiti. DMB has established the Bama Works Fund and just released a five-song live EP called The Haiti Relief Project. The new EP is available for download at dmblive.com for $5 with all proceeds going to their Haiti Relief Fund. The tracklist is as follows:

1. “Butterfly” from 8.28.2007 @ Verizon Wireless Amphitheater Kansas City, Bonner Springs, KS (Dave solo)
2. “Cry Freedom” from 7.31.2004 @ Sound Advice Amphitheatre, West Palm Beach, FL
3. “Out Of My Hands” from 7.19.2009 @ Alpine Valley Music Theatre, East Troy, WI
4. “Lying In The Hands Of God” from 6.12.2009 @ Saratoga Performing Arts Center, Saratoga Springs, NY
5. “Dive In” from 9.10.2009 @ Greek Theatre, Los Angeles, CA

has rolled out its latest Live Phish release, digging back into the early 90s for a killer show at Ross Arena at St. Michael’s College in Colchester, VT on November 19th, 1992.

100% of proceeds from the release will go to the American Red Cross and Partners in Health, two organizations working towards the aid and restoration of Haiti. Phish’s own non-profit, The WaterWheel Foundation, will match the first $15,000 raised from the sale of this show.

Wilco @ Greek Theatre

Wilco is offering up two live shows as free downloads, and in return, is asking fans to make donations OXFAM and/or Doctors Without Borders to support relief efforts in Haiti. Downloads include:

07-13-09 – Keyspan Park – Brooklyn, NY
11-04-09 – HMV Forum – London, UK

I just donated and am now enjoying their Brooklyn show, which included some killer sit-ins by Feist, Ed Droste (of Grizzly Bear), and all of Yo La Tengo. Good live music for a good cause. Good stuff.
