Grizzly Bear

The lineup for the annual was just leaked on a local radio station and Consequence of Sound was quick to pick up the story. As expected, Pearl Jam is making an appearance but it’s remarkably over-shadowed in a way by the likes of Buffalo Springfirled and on day one and and both appearing at each day. What an eclectic mix. The two-day event will be held at Shoreline Ampitheater in Mountain View, CA on October 23-24, 2010. READ MORE

Post image for Pitchfork @ Primavera Sound Festival, Day Three

Pitchfork continues its coverage of the Primavera Sound Festival in Barcelona with Day 3 reviews and photos; Grizzly Bear apparently got a weak reaction…

Primavera Sound Festival [Saturday] [Pitchfork]

But after “Two Weeks”, which surprisingly came in the middle of the set, the pace dwindled, and audience members began filing out early. On quieter numbers like “Ready, Able”, it became frustratingly difficult to hear the music over the chattering crowd, and I began to wish I were in a smaller club a little more suited to ’s intimate baroque style.

I wonder how the crowd at Nateva is going to react.

Grizzly Bear was at the House of Blues in Chicago this weekend to record a Sound Opinions show, and some of my old pals were in attendance…

These guys just look like regular hipsters from Brooklyn, but when they open their mouths to sing it was like angels – beautiful voices with lots of harmonizing…The band was late and I think it was a bit of a rush to get the questions and songs in. And only sang 3 songs. But there were only about 30 people in the audience.. so basically, did a private show for a super small crowd.

My favorite song off Veckatimest gets the royal treatment on the Late Show with David Letterman. He seriously killed it with the musical guests last week.

On Sunday night I witnessed my first Grizzly Bear show besides seeing them briefly last year at Lollapalooza, which funny enough seemed like it was two to three years ago at this point even if it was last August. I have already digressed. Anyway, the opening band, Here We Go Magic, totally laid it down [...]
