The Sasquatch Music Festival has released their 2012 lineup, and as usual, it’s a doozy. Headliners included Beck, Bon Iver, Jack White, Pretty Lights, Tenacious D and The Shins, all amongst a virtual who’s who of the best independent artists playing today. In case you missed it, the lineup for this year’s Snowball Music Festival was announced recently and it’s totally nuts. Any festival set in Vail, Colorado would be something to pay attention to regardless, and this year the promoters went all-out on the talent by snagging Snoop Dogg, Bassnectar, Rusko, TV on the Radio, Big Boi, Major Lazer and quite a few others that we’ve been paying attention to for a while. In case you missed it, the lineup for this year’s Wakarusa Music Festival was finalized late last week. Topping the bill is a solid eclectic mix with Pretty Lights, The Avett Brothers and Primus all set to headline the festival, with LMB favorites Umphrey’s Mcgee, Girl Talk, Ghostland Observatory, Big Gigantic, EOTO, Orgone, Blitzen Trapper and tons more joining them to round out the festival’s ninth year in operation.
The festival returns to the Ozarks on May 31-June 3, 2012 and tickets are still on sale. READ MORE

It looks like one of our favorite seasons of the year — “Festival Lineup Announcement Season” — is officially upon us. Wakarusa has come out of the gate nice and early with their initial 2012 lineup, including Pretty Lights, Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros, G. Love & Special Sauce, and an acoustic trio featuring Bob Weir, Chris Robinson, and Jackie Greene. This year’s Wakarusa festival is set for May 31 – June 3 at Mulberry Mountain in Ozark, Arkansas. Moogfest is a festival and celebration based around the memorial of Mr. Robert Moog. You know, that dude who invented the Moog Synthesizer which is used in so many music areas today. It was my first time attending this kind of festival that follows the SXSW format of “adopting” a community for a certain amount of time. I was excited to see how it would work. A relatively small town to hold a music festival, festival goers were forced to travel from venue to bar to parking lot to truly enjoy all of Moogfest.

I am very excited to be making my first trek down to Live Oak Florida in less than 3 weeks for the Bear Creek Music Festival, and the anticipation has only increased now that the schedule dropped last week. It’s my first time ever flying to a festival, so it’ll be a definite change from all those times I’ve loaded up the car with my camping gear, but other than that I could not be more excited.
