Headliners included , , , , and , all amongst a virtual who’s who of the best independent artists playing today. In case you missed it, the lineup for this year’s Snowball Music Festival was announced recently and it’s totally nuts. Any festival set in Vail, Colorado would be something to pay attention to regardless, and this year the promoters went all-out on the talent by snagging , , , , , and quite a few others that we’ve been paying attention to for a while. In case you missed it, the lineup for this year’s Music Festival was finalized late last week. Topping the bill is a solid eclectic mix with , and all set to headline the festival, with LMB Umphrey’s Mcgee, , , , , , and tons more joining them to round out the festival’s ninth year in operation.

The festival returns to the Ozarks on May 31-June 3, 2012 and tickets are still on sale. READ MORE

It looks like one of our favorite seasons of the year — “Festival Lineup Announcement Season” — is officially upon us. has come out of the gate nice and early with their initial 2012 lineup, including , Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros, G. Love & Special Sauce, and an acoustic trio featuring , Chris , and . This year’s Wakarusa festival is set for May 31 – June 3 at Mulberry Mountain in Ozark, Arkansas. READ MORE

Moogfest is a festival and celebration based around the memorial of Mr. Robert Moog. You know, that dude who invented the Moog Synthesizer which is used in so many music areas today. It was my first time attending this kind of festival that follows the SXSW format of “adopting” a community for a certain amount of time. I was excited to see how it would work. A relatively small town to hold a music festival, festival goers were forced to travel from venue to bar to parking lot to truly enjoy all of Moogfest.

You been paying attention Moogfest this year? We’re digging on their lineup and the daily schedule has been announced already. In addition to the top-tier lineup covered in untz and whomp, this year will feature the festival along with an expansion to a number of new venues in the Asheville proper. In addition to shows at the Asheville Civic Center Arena, Thomas Wolfe Auditorium, and the Orange Peel, they’ve also added the newly renovated Asheville Music Hall (formerly Stella Blue) and the Diana Wortham Theatre, and plan to announce another outdoor venue soon.
