In case you missed it, the lineup for this year’s Wakarusa Music Festival was finalized late last week. Topping the bill is a solid eclectic mix with Pretty Lights, The Avett Brothers and Primus all set to headline the festival, with LMB favorites Umphrey’s Mcgee, Girl Talk, Ghostland Observatory, Big Gigantic, EOTO, Orgone, Blitzen Trapper and tons more joining them to round out the festival’s ninth year in operation.
The festival returns to the Ozarks on May 31-June 3, 2012 and tickets are still on sale. READ MORE

It looks like one of our favorite seasons of the year — “Festival Lineup Announcement Season” — is officially upon us. Wakarusa has come out of the gate nice and early with their initial 2012 lineup, including Pretty Lights, Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros, G. Moogfest is a festival and celebration based around the memorial of Mr. Robert Moog. You know, that dude who invented the Moog Synthesizer which is used in so many music areas today. It was my first time attending this kind of festival that follows the SXSW format of “adopting” a community for a certain amount of time. I was excited to see how it would work. A relatively small town to hold a music festival, festival goers were forced to travel from venue to bar to parking lot to truly enjoy all of Moogfest.

I am very excited to be making my first trek down to Live Oak Florida in less than 3 weeks for the Bear Creek Music Festival, and the anticipation has only increased now that the schedule dropped last week. It’s my first time ever flying to a festival, so it’ll be a definite change from all those times I’ve loaded up the car with my camping gear, but other than that I could not be more excited.
