WATCH: Marco Benevento Trio @ Bear Creek 2011

Thanks to CHeeSeHeaDPRoDuCTioNS and Funk It, an insane amount of high-quality videos have surfaced since the Bear Creek Music Festival ended over a week ago. For fans of the Jazz Fest late night scene, it doesn’t get much better than Bear Creek’s yearly lineup offerings and this year’s festival appeared to be quite a huge success for all those lucky enough to attend. Enjoy the Marco Benevento Trio taking on an old familiar classic and covering the late Amy Winehouse below, and start counting down the days until Jazz Fest 2012.

Randy over at Funk It! does some amazing videography work and this might be his best yet – a 16-minute video that manages to blow through 26 different performances from the 2011 Bear Creek Music Festival. Apparently Mr. Funk It managed to capture over 14 hours of footage from the weekend so expect a lot more in the coming months from the Live Oak fest. Set in perhaps the finest natural music venue in all the South land a mere 463 miles from New Orleans, the Bear Creek Festival rolled out it’s lineup a couple months ago and as fall grows near, the annual Suwannee funk fest is now less than three months away. With Deluna Fest (Oct. 14-16) and Voodoo Experience (Oct. 28-30) also going down this fall, the festival options along the Gulf Coast and across the Florida Panhandle this fall are aplenty. moe. was just added to the headlining slot for this year’s Bear Creek Music Festival, joining Umphrey’s McGee and more the week of November 12th-14th in Suwannee Music Park down in Live Oak, Florida. This festival looks pretty rad.

Also scheduled to perform are Ivan Neville’s Dumpstaphunk, Lettuce, The New Mastersounds, Perpetual Groove, George Porter’s Running Pardners, Toubab Krewe, Zach Deputy, Maceo Parker, Pee Wee Ellis, Fred Wesley, Bernie Worrell, DJ Logic, Soulive, The New Deal, Bonobo Live Band, Eliot Lipp and many others.

The Bear Creek Music Festival has announced another round of additions to its 2010 lineup, including: Umphrey’s McGee (two sets), The London Souls (two sets), Saltwater Grass, The Soular System, Curious Circus, Lingo, and Papadosio. They’ve also added Pee Wee Ellis and Jans Ingber (formerly of the Motet) as “artists-at-large.” The addition of Pee Wee Ellis — along with Maceo Parker and Fred Wesley already on the bill — brings together the JB Horns, from James Brown’s legendary horn section. This might get a little funkaaaay.
