The boys in My Morning Jacket just announced some August tour dates, including two dates in SoCal with Avi Buffalo and two dates in Boston opening for Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers.

I saw Japandroids on Friday night and got to catch a very young band out of LA called Avi Buffalo. I’ll have more on Japandroids in a bit, but Avi Buffalo was something to see as well. I remarked that everyone in the band looked super young, and their homepage confirms it.
That’s where they are now: about to follow their first ten songs into the outside world, and about to celebrate a 21st birthday, and about to figure out whose foibles metastasize in what way after ten hours in a little van, and about to settle into something that they could do for the rest of their lives.
They’re set to release their self-titled debut on Sub Pop tomorrow and it’s likely these kids will have a huge summer. Check out their dates and give these newcomers a few chances. READ MORE
