Another music festival got announced this past week that we missed posting on, but it’s a mighty and strong performer in the annual “which festival is truly the best jamband festival” contest: 10,000 Lakes Festival in Minnesota. They announced the lineup for the festival set again on Soo Pass Ranch in Detroit Lakes, MN on the weekend of July 23-26; Phil Lesh & Friends and the Flaming Lips are the major headliners, with Michael Franti & Spearhead, George Clinton & Parliament Funkadelic, and Mickey Hart Band rounding out the top of the bill.
People are always raging that this is a solid festival and I’ve never made the trek up there myself. I think I’ve got to get back into festivals soon and hope to hit a camping festival sometime during 2008. I’m not sure if this lineup itself would do it for me, but for any friend of the passed-out wooks all around us, this is solid bet for a ticket to Jerrytown.
