Radiohead Announces US Tour Cities, No Dates Yet

filed under: | tags:

Radiohead released a list of the cities that they plan on hitting on their upcoming North American tour. They announced that part of it will be before their European tour dates and part of this will be subsequent to those dates. It's a pretty good run across the US, all of which will be "greened" up by purchasing offsetting carbon credits. Not to mention simply getting creative with their touring practices...

Where we can, we will be reducing our own carbon emissions, starting with sea freighting our gear. It’s 93% more efficient than air freighting, and if we ship our equipment to and from America, we save 47 tonnes of CO2. We will be doing this for touring in 2008, along with traveling as little as possible by air, avoiding chartered flights, and investigating more efficient road and rail transportation.

Start planning your vacation days and make sure your email alerts are all setup so you know when to buy your tickets. And find yourself a city to see Radiohead in...

Atlanta
Boston
Charlotte
Chicago
Cleveland
Dallas
Houston
Indianapolis
Los Angeles
Miami
Montreal
New York
Philadelphia
San Diego
San Francisco
Santa Barbara

So if that's correct -- that has Radiohead as the headliner for Lollapalooza 2008. OMFG.

plus it has them playing in the general vicinity of the Vineland festival

That's too bad they won't be play New York anytime soon, I was really looking forward to seeing and hear them for my first time.

That's right folks, I'm not a big fan of Radiohead. I've heard them a few times on Sirius and I like what I hear. But with the price of concert tickets these days, I'll stick to my other jam bands (even if Radiohead isn't technically a jam band) for my live music consumption.

are you kidding, read the top part, they are playing new york officially, that tour date list is just rumors

also, lollapalooza this year is august 1-3, which would mean radiohead would not be the headliner
even though i think theres a fairly decent chance radiohead will be headlining on the 3rd

my bad, I didn't notice it before, and I didn't don't really.

Too bad, I won't be in the city those days, maybe we'll back the trek down.

Personally we were hoping either for a Montreal, Albany, or at the very least an SPAC show.

Oh well . . . Maybe next year

For Montreal it's not possible because of the snow in april... in Jean Drapeau Park! It's probably the same date but in august.

Doesn't make sense for radiohead to play citizen's bank park in PA, (that's a baseball park and the tweeter center is right across the way) also why would they play philly, than boston, than nj. Philly and Nj are usually always back-to-back on tour schedules. Also, I don't think the radiohead site even said they were playing jersey and where's MSG, They usually stop there.
