Trey Anastasio Busted!

“DECEMBER 15–Former Phish frontman Trey Anastasio was arrested early this morning on a driving while intoxicated rap and New York cops found the musician in possession of a variety of medications prescribed to another person. Anastasio, who is pictured in the below mug shot snapped by the Whitehall Police Department, was nabbed at around 3:30 AM following a traffic stop by Patrolman Andrew Mija. He failed field sobriety tests and was found to be carrying Xanax, Percocet, and Hydrocodone. The 42-year-old Anastasio, whose first name is Ernest, was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance, DWI-drugs, and driving without a license. Whitehall is located in upstate New York, just miles from Vermont, where Phish was spawned.” [The Smoking Gun]

A thought for Trey… If you’re gonna be eating pharmies and smokin’ hash, at least have the common sense to take a cab or hire a driver or somethin’. Hell, I’ll drive his wasted ass around for a Fee… Trey you’re, “Racing with the wind you’re flirtin with death, so have a cup of coffee and catch your breath.”
Frank, I believe Trey is still in the upstate NY area.
When the story first broke he also had heroin and hash on him also. As the story progressed to bigger publications the heroin and hash were left out of the story. Does anyone know where he is now? I heard he was in some re-hab for a year. I hope he gets his s*** together so he can get back to touring.
First of all, whats he doing with prescription bottles that dont have his name on them. You would think he would have the means to obtain such things under “legal” circumstances.

All i know is that every time i got arrested was ,i put my self in a place where i kind of knew the chances. There were times i shouldnt have drove ,but felt untouchable.Back in the day things were easy, but held a reckless feeling of fun.Those times are over , and beware of those who put yours and my freedom on the line by being reckless.
The best thing that needs to happen here is Trey needs to get back to what got him here,Bring Back Phish and sober up!
I truly, truly hope Trey comes out okay. I know if I had been arrested for anything I’d be wishing. I love Trey, come on. Were you in NY? Have you ever heard of entrapment?

I just hope the next album isn’t a sad one… Just kidding, this is a pretty sad situation but if it helps him clean up, all the better.

No big surprise – i mean we all knew this was a problem for yrs. Hopefully this gets him on the right track. You never know – it may bring Phish back together!
