While this is somewhat old news, the folks at JayTV and Three Sisters Park have confirmed that the Summer Camp Music Festival will be returning to the same location in Chilicothe for the next five years.
After an enormous show of support from the City of Chillicothe and the surrounding area, Three Sisters Park reversed course and has invited the Summer Camp Music Festival back for 2007. And now Jay Goldberg Events & Entertainment is pleased to announce that the Summer Camp Music Festival will be back in Chillicothe, Illinois for, at least, the next five years!
I'm psyched to hear that it's staying put; I enjoy attending this festival (I went in 2005 and 2006) and look to attend for many years to come...
This Summer Camp is bringing alot of crime to our town! If it keeps up, I don't see them havin' it in the future.
I also forgot to mention that it is bringing alot of drugs to our town.
who ever said drugs were a bad thing!!! dont knock it if you havent tried it! some are pretty bad though! but over all summer camp is the shit, so shuvit up your A*# jojo!!!!
P.S. not every one does drugs there dumb ass
it also brings alot of $$ to ur town.
i love summer camp, especially the communal living lifestyle
Umphree's McGhee stinks like poo!
They should call them poofrey McGee's
first of all it isn't bringing any crime to your town. you have enough drunk drivers of your own ruining things around there. second, about the drugs, they are kept at the camp grounds and besides the small towns surrounding Peoria are full of drugs, especially meth labs in your white trash homes and trailors. third, your population doubles for a weekend and the economic impact is probably tripled if not more because all the hippies are buying things they forgot for the weekend, fourth, umphrey's is amazing fool.
Umphree's McGhee is amazing. sorry. deal with it
Umphrey's Mcgee is a sweet ass jam band, and you should be glad about the drugs being introduced to your town.
the only things that is coming to Chillicothe, IL that isn't already there are bands and fans....the idea that 'drugs aren't there until all those hippies show up' is just ridiculas....unless of course all of you fine Chillicotheans don't have children of your own...or maybe the fumes from the meth labs that are everywhere around there made you actually believe that your statements are correct....LOL....psychosis is bad...but as a general comparisson there shouldn't be too many hippies banging heroin in your local shops trying to molest your children.... cultural people are coming to expand themselves and listen to music not molest your children and turn them into zombies....selfish asses....WAKE UP...LIVE AND LET LIVE....i kno a lot of people there will be messed up...but i promise chillicothe, it's not your town we're after...we all just wanna get to know ourselves a little bit better...if you can find that acceptable....the real concern should be the truck drivers that keep your meth in business and your prostitues that keep the truck drivers exchanging money for herpes when they pass thru that back woods town. Ease up on the judging the tree huggers .... maybe try huggin a tree and seeing what it's like u might find part of yourself u didn't know existed........and that is lifes greatest gift...the discovery of the self....it's all we friggin have....peace to all....see ya at Summer Camp.....PS UMPHREY'S MCGEE IS AMAZING...what they have is known as Soul Connection.....peace
im just thankful for the camp, the three sisters, the bands...them all, and especially the break from reality.
it doesn't bring money to my town, other than a slight increase in city sales tax revenue. all you trustafarians spend money at here is on the grounds and at corporate-owned gas stations and corporate-owned grocery stores. way to go hippies, line the pockets of those shareholders!
and you're right there are already plenty of drugs here. unlike other Chillicotheans i'm really not concerned about that, other than of course the fact that i personally know good-natured high-school age emo-hardcore kids who out of the kindness of their hearts _volunteer_ to help clean the grounds after G-Berg & Co go over it with their extra-wide-tooth comb. this act of eco-conscious behaviour wouldn't normally disturb me but are picking up more needles every year. that's just wrong. needle-drugs have NO place in jam band culture.
the sound, lighting, and backline company which is engaged by the G-Berg is not local, they are from Champaign. they are also notoriously cheap in the live sound business and as such the fact that they fly _anything_ is disturbing. if anyone ever gets killed at this festival it's not going to be from a drug overdose (unless heroin use continues to increase) it's going to be because something heavy will fall on someone from 30 ft up.
