Announcing...
Great Performers of Illinois, a free, state-wide celebration in Millennium Park that presents more than 200 of the finest performers from across Illinois beginning Wednesday, September 6, through Saturday, September 9. Chicagoans and visitors are invited to enjoy over 75 performances that feature a wide array of music including folk, traditional and alternative country, indie rock and blues; square dancing; drumming circles; a noted Abraham Lincoln impersonator; a yodeling, trick roping cowboy; and much more. I know Backyard Tire Fire is making an appearance that I might try and catch. Sounds cool all around, though -- you can't front on a Lincoln impersonator PLUS a trick roping cowboy!
If you like Top-40 country music, don't miss Central Illinois' Hottest Country Band, Still Kick'n, appearing on the Blue-gill stage from 5:30 til 6:30 on Friday, September 8th.
This is a "DON'T MISS" show...they are FANTASTIC!!!
Hey, thanks for info. on this. I might go check out Backyard Tire Fire too. BurningOak (my kid) turned me onto them awhile back I think. I have a friend in a band playing on Friday, and wanted to check them out. That link you provided gives the schedule, which is what I needed. Thanks.
Take care. Great site by the way.
Don't miss Chicago's live hip-hop band performing Saturday, Sept 9th at Noon on the South Balcony Stage (Blue Gill Stage). Not just an EMCEE with a DJ, this is a full band with bass, guitar, keys, drums, percussion, DJ, EMCEEs and a full live sound that will BLOW YOU AWAY...
check out www.myspace.com/animateobject for free music samples.
I was looking for the person who is in charge of booking the bands.
Thanks,
