From the Inbox

filed under: , ,

From time to time, I'm going to dive into the Live Music Blog inbox and highlight some of the interesting items that get sent our way every single day...

On the first installment of the "From the Inbox" series, I've got a couple items that have been piling up on my desk that I found interesting...

Jihad Jerry & the Evildoers - Mine is Not a Holy War
Thanks to Cordless for this. Not much of a fan of the genre -- sorta sounds Devo-ish (makes sense) with a little They Might Be Giants mixed in -- but I did enjoy this one tune. It reminds me a little bit of the Simpsons episode where Bart joins a boy band.

Many Men Mirror Many Faces (MySpace)
I enjoyed this; light, airy, spacey and melodic enough to make me relax a little bit...not bad...

Matthew Worden - Cobblestone Street & Endless Sounds
I hear some Dave Matthews, some David Gray, and a little more folk-ish sounds coming from Matthew Worden, a singer-songwriter in NYC. He's playing at Sin-é on Sun., Sept 17.

Stay tuned to the Inbox if you want to catch up with random stuff that we're catching up with...

I actually saw Matthew Worden live at the Cutting Room in New York. Incredible stuff. The cello is beautiful and Matthew's lyrics are as thought-provoking as they are soul baring. I was thinking more Damien Rice when I heard him. I'm going to try to make it to the Sin-e show - sweet venue!

Definitely check out that Sin-e show and let us know how it went. :)
