Starscape Festival 2008 | Initial Artist Announcement

starscapecutoutbanner.jpg

The Baltimore-based Starscape Festival has announced its preliminary list of artists for the annual all-night dance party, set for June 7th. As they did last year, the Disco Biscuits will be headlining the festival.

After last year's throwdown, I think it's a very solid choice. Starscape is unlike most festivals for a number of reasons. The event breaks its stages up by genre, it lasts one very long day and night, and it focuses mostly on electronic dance music. These differences seem to be working for Starscape, as they are celebrating their 10th anniversary. Many people consider this to be the largest rave in the country, which actually does do the festival some real justice. Let's just say that if you want to party from 2pm until 6am to some great live electronic rock, techno, hip-hop, drum & bass and IDM, then this is your festival. Read on for the artist list and ticket info...

In my opinion, one of the highlights of this year's festival is BioDiesel. The band is comprised of human drum machine, Johnny Rabb, and Brother's Past bassist, Clay Parnell, as well as a rotating cast of characters on keyboards and synths (often Aaron Magner of the Disco Biscuits). Rabb and Parnell are self-described as "the most lethal rhythm section ever." These guys will blow your mind, promised. It's also good to see Chicago natives Future Rock and Orchard Lounge in the mix as they definitely fill out the bill nicely.

Tickets go on sale March 25 and will cost you $39.50 if you get them early, $60 if you get them late, or $125 if you think you're a VIP. Check below for the remaining line-up...
