Saturday, May 26th:
Björk, Arcade Fire, Manu Chao Radio Bemba Sound System, M.I.A., Citizen Cope, Neko Case, The Hold Steady, Grizzly Bear, Ghostland Observatory, Electrelane, Two Gallants, The Slip, Loney, Dear, Aqueduct, The Thermals, Viva Voce, The Blow, Gabriel Teodros

To me...this lineup looks fantastic. Hell, I'd go for Bjork, Beastie Boys, and The Slip alone -- but every other band is a bonus and there are plenty of other must-see's on this bill. Fantastic, I say!

IMO this is a great lineup and I think I prefer the 2 day festival.

Posted by: danfun | February 20, 2007 12:16 PM

So do these bands only play the one huge stage at the Gorge? IMO that seems like way too big of a space for acts like Grizzly Bear and Neko Case to perform.

Posted by: stems | February 20, 2007 11:50 PM

Last year they played on all three stages: the big one, the one to the right by the food stands, and the one to your left when you walk in. Personally, I'm a little let down by the line-up... I think I expected bigger names after last year's billing of Beck, Ben Harper, Sufjan, Shins, Death Cab to name a few...

Posted by: crunch | February 21, 2007 6:16 PM

yeah... this is fake

Posted by: mike | February 21, 2007 6:43 PM

im pretty disappointed with this years line up, but that may be because last year was just too great to live up to...

Posted by: captain morgan | February 21, 2007 11:03 PM

This lineup blows! It cant even compare to last year. C'mon add some bigger names in their seriously!

Posted by: Melany | February 22, 2007 11:34 AM

i'm so disappointed i could cry. last year was fabulous so i can't believe it could change so much and for the worse. i'm not counting on them adding big names. i went to lollapalooza last year and none of the late additions were big names with the exception of my morning jacket.

Posted by: Laurie | February 22, 2007 11:39 AM

In my opinion, I was anticipating a great lineup and was let down big time. If you compare it to the other big festivals like Coachella and Bonnaroo it really is pretty weak. The 2006 lineup for Sasquatch was at its apex but it didn't even come close this year--this year has the worst lineup in Sasquatch history. I am even a fan of Bjork and Bboys but the lineup needs a few more big names.

Posted by: Jon | February 22, 2007 1:40 PM

Fuck you, this lineup is for the fucking birds. Last year's lineup blows this years out of the water. Thanks for making a shitty lineup and not giving the pacific northwest a big name festival worth remembering. The promoter can suck a fart out of my ass.

Posted by: Jon | February 22, 2007 1:46 PM

Beck sucked ass last year...sorry guys but I've been going to Sasquatch every year for four years and this is BY FAR the best total line-up I've seen. Last year my boyfriend and I spend the whole drive home discussing how it would probably be the last Sasquatch for us. Death Cab rocked but the whole rest of the day was a disappointment.

Bjork? Are you arguing with Bjork, AND the Arcade Fire? Actually it's the smaller bands that are waaay better this year than in the past. Looks like I'll have to get there early rather than just showing up for the last three.

Hopefully everyone else will have your crappy attitudes and force them to sell tickets at a discount for the rest of us.

Posted by: ephy | February 22, 2007 6:37 PM

Huge dissapointment. We've attended Sasquatch every year since 2003 but it looks like this year we'll be skipping. I don't understand how this lineup is so weak when last year's lineup was FULL of big names and the Saturday and Sunday were sold out. Its a bummer.

Posted by: Chris | February 22, 2007 11:59 PM

its not about having big names. its about having good music. Last years line up was packed with good music. Shins,Matisyahu,Ben Lee, Rocky Voltolo. Those all werent big names back then, but they are all talented musicians and their music is amazing.

And even the big names were amazing like Death Cab, Harper and Decemberists. I've previewed most of the small names this year and they arent very good. This year is such a let down. I cant belive they let the Beastie Boys cover.

Posted by: jimmy | February 23, 2007 12:59 AM

eat my arse

Posted by: the last J.C. | February 26, 2007 11:01 AM

The list is definetly lacking the 'big names' of last year but I would argue that there is still a lot of great music.

Beastie Boys (Mostly Kick Ass)
Interpol (Kick Ass!)
Tokyo Police Club (cool)
The Thermals (Kick Ass!)
The Hold Steady (cool)
Ghostland Observatory (cool)
Grizzly Bear (cool)
Neko Case (cool)
Helio Sequence (cool)

So I guess I would call it a decent line up but could certainly use a little improvement.

Posted by: colin | February 27, 2007 7:44 PM

There are a few that I missed (Arcade Fire for one- way kcik ass!) but yea comment of needing more stil stands.

GIVE ME ART BRUT AND I WILL BE HAPPY!

Posted by: colin | February 27, 2007 7:46 PM

Umm yeah, completly disapointed by this line up. I have gone to every sasquatch festival since the beginning, and even the first one with only one stage and like maybe 10 bands was better than this line up...the only ones i would like to see this year are Micheal Franti and Spearhead and the bestie boys...Franti is absolutly amazing, but i think they might just be shooting for a different crowd this year, at least thats what it looks like to me.

Posted by: Rabab | February 27, 2007 10:35 PM

Posers need not apply. Sasquatch is for the off-beat, the unknown, the under-the-radar, the local bands. This lineup is solid and lives up to everything the festival stands for. If you're looking for big names, head to Coachella with the rest of MTV nation. Do some research on this year's lineup. There is some great music to be heard here.

Posted by: Sam | February 27, 2007 10:46 PM

bboys are the only band i will go to see(yes i will go)but i wish it was a 3 day show like last year, and i wish they could have got the butthole surfers to play im sure there will be a few more big names on the list before too long.

Posted by: PuffY | February 28, 2007 11:14 AM

neko case made it hail last year. fuck that.

Posted by: Allison | March 4, 2007 11:52 PM

This line up is amazing. So yeah they are small name bands, but the talent is off the charts....

Posted by: Nathalie | March 6, 2007 3:55 AM

Two words.... BAD BRAINS!

Posted by: Bob Thompson | March 7, 2007 6:54 AM

Noone has mentioned M.I.A! Bjork, M.I.A, Arcade Fire? and someone is upset about this years sasquatch? along with grizzly bear and neko case? stay in your apartment so I can have more lawn space.

Posted by: Ashley Allen | March 7, 2007 2:18 PM

does anyone know if sarah silverma is going to be there cause i heard she was.

Posted by: iverson 3182 | March 7, 2007 7:42 PM

How can anyone in there right mind say this is a good lineup? Yeah it would be hard to top last year but these are 2nd and 3rd stage bands. Why not Decemberists, get Death Cab back. I wouldn't pay to go see Neko Case and Tokyo Police in my bckyard.

Posted by: Jesse Decker | March 8, 2007 12:33 AM

i am quite dissapointed. i wanted some more big names like sufjan, beck, flamming lips etc. To the people that have gone every year not everyone can afford to go every year so we like to see big names for the times we can go. That said I have checked out some of the smaller bands and some are sweet ghostland observatory, grizzly bear, lonely dear, the thermals, minus the bear and aqueduct are all good. Add in some of the others i am looking forward to. Bjork, arcade fire, interpol, maybe bboys (depends what they play), spoon, the hold steady, tokyo police club. still hoping for bigger names. I also heard cold war kids are going to be there? is this true?

Posted by: unknown | March 9, 2007 10:53 AM

aw man, hoping for some more, but i'm still exited.

Posted by: Nabil | March 9, 2007 6:33 PM

mannnn. where's metallica! i need BIG NAMES.

Posted by: waa waa mccrybaby | March 12, 2007 10:36 PM

I would be lying if I said I wasnt dissapointed in this years line up last year and the year before were the best two festivals I have ever been to and I've been to cochella and bonnoroo. I just wish the line up had a bit more ummphh to get people excited maybe Andrew Bird, Of Montreal, brig bloc party back they cant be that hard to get there opening for fucken panic at the disco, love to see sufjan come back, and if you were considering any big names THE STROKES and SHOUT OUT LOUDS would probably make it as good as if not better then last year

Posted by: Jason Muise | March 15, 2007 1:44 PM

man i can't wait to see da b-boy's it's been a dream 1 of hip-hop's originals

Posted by: booboo trujillo | March 19, 2007 9:30 PM

If you don't like the lineup, don't go and don't bitch. There are wonderful bands playing. If you simply opened your mind and expanded your musical repertoire beyond Metallica and Madonna, then you may find something you really like. Also, music is about expansion. It is created to make our simple lives as humans more bearable and understandable. That is why I cannot comprehend the thrashing most people are giving this year's fest. I'll be there in the front row jumpin up and down to the BBoy trance and you'll be sitting at home beating something that should be left alone and singing to Michael Jackson. Thanks for the extra elbow room!

Posted by: mike el | March 21, 2007 2:30 PM

um... last year they had alot of untapped talent.... or i guess bands that were still building a fan base... i don't like the headliners this year... maybe next year will be better

Posted by: mike | March 23, 2007 2:52 PM

this years line up is completely bull shit. except for minus the bear and beastie boys.

Posted by: bob | May 8, 2007 1:07 PM

does anybody know if it's a crazy party there? is it worth it to go jsut for the camping/party?

Posted by: chickaroo | May 15, 2007 5:21 PM

Thanks to 94/7 Alternative Portland I'll be at Sasquatch! Check back later for pics, vids and the blog.

It is SOOO true that it is not about big names..even though there are a few..I think this lineup is wayy better..than the stand around still indie sh@#$..yesss fun to move your feet to! Manu Chao is amazing, Spearhead (michael franti will you be mine?), Ozomatli, The Blow is kick a**, citizen cope, MIA, blackaliscious..the only time I've been to the Gorge was Sasquatch the first year..I was holding off for an "amazing show" turns out anything would be amazig with that setting, good people, and a good attitude..love it, explore the new stuff! I can't wait!

Posted by: chelon | May 22, 2007 11:51 AM

There are a lot of names I don't know also..but am willing to check out, and maybe learn they are amazing..isn't that the beauty of festivals, instead of one-headliner concerts?

Posted by: chelon | May 22, 2007 11:53 AM

YA'LL ARE HATERS. IF YOU DON'T LIKE TO LINE-UP, DON'T GO...OBVIOUSLY YOU HAVEN'T HEARD ANY OF THE LESSER BANDS BEFORE, SO RATHER THAN HATING, SHUT IT AND GO HAVE A GOOD TIME!

A LOT OF GOOD LOCALS, PLUS:

Bjork
The Arcade Fire
Neko Case
Ozomatli
Mix Master Mike
Beastie Boys "A Gala Event - Exclusive Instrumental Show!"
Aqueduct
Visqueen
Beastie Boys
Interpol
Michael Franti & Spearhead
Blackalicious
The Dandy Warhols
Jesse Sykes & The Sweet Hereafter (local)
Helio Sequence

DON'T LIKE IT, DON'T GO!

Posted by: SARGEANT SHIVER | May 23, 2007 1:06 PM

I'm personally stoked on the line-up and happy that the organizers added some diversity ... yeah so maybe this will draw a different crowd, and I can only see this happening to the better - people who enjoy different genres of really good music and love to dance - now that's love. Bjoerk, Michael Franti & Spearhead, Manu Chao, M.I.A., Ozomatli, Mix Master Mike, Blackalicious ... I'm so glad there's more than Indie Rock ... it's good, just the performers mentioned above got a bunch more flavour!!!! Excited to Be There!!!

Posted by: Zora | May 23, 2007 8:04 PM

yeah, beastie boys hardly rapped. thumbs down.
