Bonnaroo 2007
has been announced; mark those smelly hippie setlist notebooks and/or indie hipster moleskins for June 14-17, 2007 and bring it!

We're excited to announce that the sixth annual Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival is confirmed to take place June 14 - 17, 2007. The four-day camping and music festival will once again be held on the same beautiful, 700-acre farm in Manchester, TN, 60 miles southeast of Nashville.

I went last year for my college newspaper. If you like dirty hippys, no showers, and more drugs than you couls=d ever want ( there were drugds I had never even heard of) you will love it. I loved the bands, but the hippys in a coma I could do without. I like to go home and shower at the end of an old day festival.

Hell yeah! Buying tickets cheaper then they usually sell for is OK by me. I have faith that the 2007 event will be amazing, and the lineup will surely be killer. Can't go wrong with music, movies, comedy, and debauchery in TN!

I agree with the first poster. I used to be way too into the "scene" until I realized how sketchy and drug saturated it was. Don't get me wrong there still TONS of good people and good things happening.

beat that, stereotypes

Bonnaroo 2007 will be great their are rumors of a phish setlist that could be played at the roo this year, also STS9 could show up if all is right

John, are you sure you went for your college newspaper? Besides the numerous typos, you spelled "hippies" wrong, and just what exactly is an "old day festival"? I've been to Bonnaroo twice now, it seemed relatively young to me.
Seriously, if you hate hippies and drugs then I guess Bonnaroo is not the place for you, but this is going to be the case with the gross majority of music festivals. You see, most drug users are big fans of music; most hippies are also big fans of music, and also drug users. So it only makes sense to expect the whole scene to go together. Besides, live music is better on drugs anyway.
Really, my point is this. If your going to go to a multi-day music festival, expect drugs and hippies; if you can't handle that, stick to your run-off the mill concert venues. While most festivals have hippies and drugs, most are not nearly of the same quality as Bonnaroo. Bonnaroo is much cleaner than most other festivals, the crowds are great, vendors are quality, and the music is always top notch. I recommend it to anyone and everyone who is not too prissy to go four days without taking a shower.

Dylan you sound like the only other normal person whos posted, and I agree if you dont like hippies and "drugs" stay at home and reflect on how boring your life is. But for us music lovers GO and have the best time of your life. Also please remiber everyone the whole point of ROO is not to see who can get the most cracked out and not remiber the shows that they acutally went to when they wernt passed out in the grass, the point is to enjoy all walks of music and meet cool people who are on the same wavelenght as yourself. If you dont remiber this you will not have fun then you will think the whole thing sucks like the cocky newsletter writers that go just to say they have been. I hope not pricks that dislkie bonnaroo don't show up cause thats 1 less person I have to fight to get front row at younder mountain thats all. Peace Andrew

Wow. I've been to the 2002, 2003, 2006 Bonnaroo festivals, and absolutely nothing has changed, except the entrance process in 1000000% more efficient, and the water facilities are much nicer. It's still a fantastic time. The drugs are ubiquitous a la a Phish lot scene. But if you are there to see music, it doesn't get in your way. Also - there are shower stands everywhere. If you didn't shower all 4 days, that was your choice. I enjoyed starting my day fresh and clean. Additionally, if you are surprised at the amount of drugs and hippies at a Woodstockian music festival where "The Dead" are headlining, perhaps you should lay off the drugs yourself. P.S. - There've been rumors of a Phish set every single year. It will never happen. Relax.

Phish is not out of the line-up. Their could be a superjam with the whole group if all their bands are playing as well. It woudent be tche old songs we are used to, it would be more of a jam of new material that they havent tried. I think we will see the DEAD, pearljam, and panic. I will go untill jessica simpon is the headliner. Peace.

who needs drugs when you have......(wait for it)....

THE POLICE!

its official, the police have announced they are headlining Bonnaroo 2007.

Phish is definitly ruled out of this line-up. If Phish were to reunited they wouldn't do it at Bonnaroo thats for sure. Especially after MTV bought it.

Never been out to bonnaroo.but to comment on the scene at music fests. My first was Cal jam2 in 77' it was wild drug fest the type you dont see anymore.Nowadays a few kids drugging it up is the least I could expect from a festival. The day partying ends at rock fests will be the day I die!!

Posted by: scott | February 24, 2007 11:39 AM

Bonnaroo 2004 was the shit. I came to the thing knowing Allman Bros., Roots, Galatic, and Robert Randolph. It was at that very site where STS9 blew my f'in brain out the back of my head, and at about 9 am I said, "These Particle guys are just getting started!" (I think they were supposed to be 4-7am?). Anywho, Bonnaroo was amazing in 04. Maybe I was just being a pussy, but I didnt go the past 2yr, for fear that it was more of a meat head frat fest. Maybe I took it too far with that comment, but this year's lineup looks phenomenal. As for drugs, 04, the year of the Fractile . Fuck the bullshit- no more talkin--BONNAROO!!!!!!!!!

Posted by: jerf | February 26, 2007 2:49 AM

The beauty of this festival called Bonnaroo is that it courts all types of people. As suggested in other posts, should you decide to smell badly, camp and eat drugs for four days you could certainly do so, however, if you'd like to enjoy an adult beverage and hear some great music, still sleep in air conditioning and have a hot shower, you can rent an RV. There's Patchoulie land and there's RV land and we can all live happily ever after.

I am very excited to go to Bonnaroo this year. I have never been, but some of my fvorite bands will be playing this year and I just have to see it. We are driving from Texas. WILCO!!!!!

Woohooo!
Can't wait to Bonnaroo!!!!!

Xo,
M

P.S. Are there really showers? I mean that would be awesome, because I was planning on taking alot of water in the trunk of my car.. several gallons, to pour over myself... I can't go without a bath for four days, Maybe two, but not four... that's too much.. I would have when I was a teenager, but I am twenty-six years old now, and I am get a little disgusted at the idea of smelling like dirty ass..

I ain't gonna lie... Where are the showers?? if there aren't any I will come prepared. You can have what they call a "European-Bath".... just scrub the essentials...

(hahaha)

Bonnaroo is great. My group is older and wiser, so we don't do the "scene".

Question for all - we've got three people going and we want to go VIP - any info on splitting a set of VIPs for others in this situation?
