Vegoose 2006 | Downloads & Torrents

Vegoose 2006 might have been a little undersold…but the music will still live on…

Here’s a list of downloads from the music festival. Most of the links will be to torrent files, which you learn more about here if you’re not already versed. Most of the shows will probably be in FLAC format, which you can learn about here. Drop any others you find in the comments and get downloadin’!

I think I’m going to give that Mars Volta set a listen or two; any others stand out?

  1. Mars Volta? Ouch. Not sure if I wasn’t “in the mood” or what, but that Volta show was horrible. People were leaving in droves. ‘ It was actually the running joke of the weekend from then on….”hey how bout Mars Volta…EPIC”

The Trey late night show was awesome. I know you been hard on him lately but he was in RARE form on Friday and Saturday night. The Phil/Trey late night 1st set was some of the best music I’ve seen in probably 3 years. GHOST opener!

There wasn’t more than 25,000 people there….which was PERFECT.

  2. The Mars Volta show was amazing! Many people I talked to said it was one of the best sets at Vegoose this year.

  3. i thought phil and trey at orleans sucked. and im not one of those idiots expecting trey to sound like jerry or something. the mood was right but the music dissapointed! my bet is that trey and phil are no more. made one long for joan osborne. oh well. damian marley was good the night before if not a bit short.

  4. yeah the Mars Volta is horrible live. I’ve seen them twice, once with the red hot chili peppers in oakland a few months ago, and now Vegoose, they are just a studio band. I love their studio stuff, just live dear god! and vegoose was worse than the first time.

  5. I was stunned by Mars Volta. They are much better in a live setting. Wow. I wasnt too impressed with Keller Williams and his band. He’s a much better 1 mand show. If your interested… you can see some Vegoose photos that we have uploaded.

  12. I thought Mars Volta put on a solid jam set. Cause me old fashioned, but I still like to live in the fantasy world that Bonnaroo and Vegoose are jam festivals.

The Killers on the other hand… are a horrific live band. There was no variation in any of their songs and Brandon Flowers looks like a nervous kid who is about to piss his pants.

  13. Thanks for the list!

    But, damn. No Praxis…..?

  14. phil & trey late night was amazing! i saw phil & friends 3 times over the summer and many times before, but that late night show was absolutely mind blowing. addtionally i really like mars volta’s studio stuff, but their set on saturday was miserably bad. nothing more than cacophoness crap which was a repeat of the show i saw them play in phoenix in september. KWI was not bad and The Roots and Damian Marley put on great shows. Dave & Tim friday night was also a fabulous set that couldn’t have been better if i picked the setlist myself. i’m dying to find these sets to DL any help would be appreciated.

  15. any one have the Trey late night show from Orleans Arena 10/27/06. Sounded like he may have found some of that old groove. The Plasma and Mr. Completely jams were great.

Also, anyone with Dave/Tim @ MGM from earlier that same night?

  16. Who has Damian Marley @ Vegoose… it was the best show and I have been searching for it since last week?

  19. oh and for the record, mars volta was fucking horrible, it was like a mix of fingernails on a chalkboard and cats getting hit by trucks

  24. Yeah the Mars Volta can suck my left nut. Those guys are a bunch of wanna be artsy premadonnas. They wouldn’t let anyone video tape their set (even the webcast crew was forced to turn off their cameras) and for good reason I suppose, because their live show sounds like pure ass.

I like their records a lot, but I’ve seen them twice now and both times it sounded like a horrible muddy mess. They have such a dense sound to begin with, so if the sound system isn’t calibrated just right it sounds like a big lump of poo coming out of the speakers. The vocal mic was turned way down in the mix also, so you would see the singer flailing around like he was Jim Morrison screaming into the mic, but there were no vocals audible. After hearing them “jam” on the same riff for like 15 minutes, I got fed up and left. Big let down.

Praxis and The Raconteurs kicked ass though, here’s a couple clips from the video I shot of them:

The Raconteurs - Broken Boy Soldiers (Live at Vegoose):

Praxis - Guitar Solo>Machine Gun (Live at Vegoose):

    enjoy!

  28. This is seriously the funniest thread I have read in awhile.

The Mars Volta were great, to the guy who said I couldn’t hear the vocals, step back a few rows and you can hear them perfectly. The Mars Volta put on a very good set and my friend has video of the entire set :)
