Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, Foo Fighters, LL Cool J and Yerba Buena are the first acts confirmed for AmsterJam 2006, to be held Aug. 19 at New York's Randall's Island. In keeping with the "mash up" spirit of the event, Petty and the Foos will play separate sets then join forces for a combined performance.
Additional acts will be announced, including a suite of second-stage artists; tickets go on sale June 10 via Ticketmaster. Last year's inaugural AmsterJam featured performances from the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Snoop Dogg, 311, Wyclef Jean and Garbage, among others.
