M.F.I.M.B.Y. | Riverview Music Festival in Chicago

I just learned that there’s going to be a small, street festival right near my place at the end of August. Who’s playing, you ask?

2006 Riverview Music Festival
Aug. 25-26, 2006
Roscoe/Western - Chicago, IL

Lineup:
Umphrey’s McGee
Freddy Jones Band
Subdudes
Jackie Greene
Assembly Of Dust
ekoostik hookah

I haven’t seen any of these bands live so it just might be worth it to join the nearest yuppie sausage-fest, I mean Chicago street festival, that I can find for the weekend.

  1. Freddy Jones Band? wow that’s a name from the past. Last time I saw them was w/ WSP in the early 90’s @ The Belly- Up.
Always loved their first album. Wow I think I’ll put it on right now.

  2. subdudes and ekoostik hookah? Good chance I’ll be there with some family. Plus my dad lives about a 5 minute cab ride away.

  3. Freddy Jones Band, is a name from the past! They were a Chicago band that I used to see every time they were near my college. I saw they re-united for a few shows last year.

I saw them a ton back in 91-96 around Cincinnati, Columbus. They had a decent amount of radio play for some of their singles off of their last studio CD, “North Avenue Wakeup Call.” Kind of poppy music but they toured with Widespread Panic for a bit.

If you have ever seen the Marty Lloyd Band around Chicago, he is in FJB.

Hope they tour over this way soon! Re-live some old memories!

  4. I saw Assembly of Dust at the Gathering of the Vibes last summer and it was one of my favorite sets. You will be sure to enjoy them.
