I just thought I'd drop an open thread for everyone to jam out on today; it's an easy topic to discuss, too...
WHAT ARE YOU DOING THIS WEEKEND? Anything cool going on?
Since I'm clearly in the spirit for sharing, I'll let you guys know what I've got going on this weekend...
Tomorrow night, I'm actually going to Hootie & the Blowfish at Ravinia. Save your laughs, though -- it's a family get-together that I'm looking forward to. But yeah, I'm probably going to have "I only want to be with yoouuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu!" in my head for days after...
Anyone top that?
Heiruspecs at the Abbey Pub. They are a really talented live hip-hop band out of minneapolis. If you are into acts like the Roots and Kanye who use a full band to create their melodies, then this concert should not be missed. They are incredibly tight. They've spent the last 3-4 months recording, so hopefully saturday night's shnow should bring a longer setlist with some new songs.
Friday maybe going to see the movie Hollywood Land.

p.s.- Hootie's "I'm Going Home" is a damn good song.
p.p.s.- The "Granny" I saw on 9.1.96 at the DMB show in NC had special guests Darius Rucker and the guitarist Mark (curly hair guy) on it. Twas awesome...probably the best "Granny" of the 30-or-so "Granny"'s I've seen.

Pretending that I'm back @ Red Rocks (last weekend). And listening to a lot of moe as I finally get a to see a good show in Vancouver (next Thursday). In other words, nothing.
