The Dandy Warhols | 2008 Tour Dates

Dandy Warhols - Not If You Were The Last Junkie On Earth [YouTube]

I wouldn't go out a limb and say that I'm a huge fan of The Dandy Warhols, but I saw that they announced a decent tour today and I was curious to see what some of our readers thought about the band. Their stuff is kinda fun, poppy and psychedelic, which is great, but I have no clue how they come off live. One band that does fun, poppy, and psychedelic that I have been enjoying for quite some time would be Of Montreal, and I got into them once I heard how well they sounded live (and not really at all before that time). So maybe that's me and these guys. Plus, the first single off their new album, Earth to the Dandy Warhols, is a seriously funky delight.

Anybody seen them recently? Anyone seen DiG!? Do share your comments. As for the band, they're up in BC for the next two nights and then onto various stops and cities around the US. Read on for the tour dates...

(As a side note: I really remember loving that video above when it came out -- the dancers are my favorite part).

I really enjoyed reading this article. I actually never heard of this group, but now I'm interested in finding out more about them and the obvious connection they may have to visual art. Great!

Check out the album Welcome to the Monkey House, that's what got me hooked on them. The singles "You Were The Last High," "Plan A," "We Used To Be Friends," and "I Am A Scientist" are all fantastic. Sadly I didn't know they had a new one coming out, I best check it...

I used to be a fan in 2000 or so. i used to sing along one of their lines "i would rather be cool than smart..."

always wondered if they were serious or sarcastic when they sang it, and i sometimes myself wondered if i would rather be cool than smart...
