Rush | 2007 Tour Dates
When I was in high school, I probably listened to the Rush live album, Exit…Stage Left, more than any of piece of music. Seriously.
I never really got a good chance to catch them live at the time and I eventually fell out of love with it. It was half-novelty for me because I wasn’t a fan of a lot of their songs — way too 80’s synth by the time I got around to hearing more of their catalog beyond “Freewill” and “Spirit of Radio” — but I was a huge fan of their drummer, Neal Peart. I was aspiring young drummer myself at the time and I was on a steady diet of Rush and The Police for a very long portion of my early musical growth…
Rush just keeps coming back, though. Whether or not that’s a good thing — well, let’s just wait for the real music critics to decide on that question. They’ve got a new album coming out — Snakes & Arrows — and they’re following it up with a massive world tour. Crazy Canadians.

Massive, indeed. Young bands, take note — tour a lot like Rush does. That is all.
Have been a fan (though not huge) of Rush going back to Moving Pictures. Hadn't seen them live since about 1985 until two tours ago. My brother-in-law is a huge Rush fan and got me to go along without much prodding. The format for their tours now is no opening band and they play two sets lasting 2 1/2 to 3 hours. They tend to play at least one song from every album, so no matter when you were a fan you'll hear something that you know. They still have a big rock show with videos, lasers, flashpots, and last time, three working tumble dryers on stage for no apparent reason. Hey, if you're going to spend three hours on stage, you might as well get some laundry done! But they all still incredible musicians and the show was great. Set list doesn't change much night to night, if at all and there isn't a lot of jamming, though they do travel from the studio versions occassionally. Overall, a great rock show from extremely talented musicians.
Great Show wgat the hell is up with the Chickens on stage?????

I saw RUSH at the PNC Arts Center in NJ last night and overall, it was an awesome show (no warm-up band). I was a big fan of the band between 2112 and Signals, but really didn’t listen to them very much after that. I’ve seen them perform 3 or 4 times in the (now distant) past. Last night, I was surprised at how few of (what I would consider to be) their classic tunes they performed. But it made me realize the extent of their repertoire. Although I was unfamiliar with many of the songs that they played, it wasn’t like one of those shows where you sit there bored to tears in your seat while the band performs songs off their upcoming album. It was a RUSH show through and through and I loved it. Top tunes for me from last night were: Train to Bangkok, Vital Signs, Subdivisions, Tom Sawyer, Witch Hunt, Spirit of Radio, and a KICK ASS version YYZ that in my opinion was the highlight of the show. I went to the show in Camden last night, it was so f-ing incredible and yeah they did Summertime Blues great. I can’t get over how good they sound in concert and Tom Sawyer twice ina row was crazy. And the South Park thing was even great too.

This was the fourth time for me dating back to the early 80’s.They never seem to amaze me. Every time I see them is better than the last. This show blew my mind.Any true Rush fan is a fool to miss this show. I just wish I could remember the song they played that was’nt thier own. 10’s across the board.

RUSH ! What more can I say ? Just woke up from an evening with Rush at Saratoga Performing Arts Center, NY. I’ve seen Rush perform 7 times since 1978 and every time I see them I am equally impressed with their work. Last night was no exception. They played flawlessly and had a great mix of a lot of their older stuff that you don’t hear often enough. My 17 year went with me and had a great time. To me, this proves they are most definately still relevant in todays music. Awesome !

There is no opener – they play two sets. They also have 3 full racks of roasting chickens on stage with them. No, really. And every once and a while, this woman comes out from backstage to check on them.

The set list for the 2007 looks great! My only ongoing disappointment is that, despite Rush’s attempts to play a comprehensive mix of their work, Caress of Steel is NEVER represented. I may be the odd woman out, but I LOVE that album. I can see why some songs might not work, but there are certainly at least a couple that would, especially if The Fountain of Lamneth were considered individual pieces. Hearing The Necromancer live would be incredible!! They’ve done the entirety of 2112; no reason they can’t do other lengthy pieces.

Being in HS in the 70’s, I had heard a few Rush radio hits and always kinda liked them. But I kept getting them mixed up with Yes and Foreigner (please, I know now…it is impossible). But in 1991-92, Roll the Bones and Ghost of a Chance were getting a lot of airplay and I made up my mind to buy some albums. Thank Heaven for CD Warehouse; I bought good used copies of every Rush release I could find. And I was hooked!
Dallas Smirnoff Centre in 2002, 2004, and now, August 11, 2007. I hope I can meet them some day, just to say “Thank You” to three wonderful musicians and their crew.

Hey Justin…what “young bands”? Fact is that long in the tooth rockers like Rush can sell out venues because there are no good new bands and rock is essentially on life support.
Classic rock is the only way that we get our rock ‘n roll fix.

I’ve been a rush fan since the womb at only 20 years old I am one of the bands younger fans a love I got from my father who is a huge fan as well. The only show I’ve seen so far was the vapor trails tour (my mom wouldn’t let me skip my high school graduation to go to the 30th anniversary tour) and I was extremly sad that it might be the only time I would ever get to see rush live so imagine my excitement to hear they would be releasing another album and going on tour again. My brother as I am typing this keeps sending me pictures from the tampa show which he is at right now and i will have to wait another couple of months til their st. paul show which I got tickets to in the presale within hours of them going up.
As one of the youngest in the rush fan base I have to say they still rock and their concerts are more entertaining and exciting than all the new age crap my husband drags me to. Rock on Rush!

My first show was The Hemispheres Tour. Saw Permanant Waves..and then Moving Pic’s. Not again until Vapor Trails (seemed to be pretty much the same show…which is still great). Going next week to Nissan Pavillion in Virginia. STOKED!. S-n-A is an awesome album (sorry..kinda old..I still say album). They’ve really changed up the set-list, from what I’ve seen about Atlanta. SO looking forward to rocking with the boys! Now…if I could save Brooke Shields from drowning and blow the reward money hiring RUSH to play my birthday party….(tell me you get that?)

Hey amigos,
A world tour is supposed to reach more places than the US, a few Canadian cities (What about Halifax?????)and some parts of Europe… there’re TONS of fans in Southamerica who will be utterly disappointed that after years and years of waiting you finally go on a world tour forgetting 60% of the world!!!
What’s up with that??
Many people in Chile and Argentina will regret your decision…I mean, i bet it’s money related… going there is probably not very cheap… it’s very expensive for me to come from Chile but i’m no rock star!!!
Sad, very sad!
It would have been nice… you could have come to visit us down there… you could have tasted a wonderful Patagonian barbeque!
It could have been fun!
Anyway, it will be great for those who will get to see you… Good Luck!
Chao!

The tour dates are wrong. I know the Charlotte show is June 18th and Raleigh is the 20th. Might want to check the other ones also.

…time becomes irrelevent with a brand new Rush album in my hands…
Unlike past releases…I was unable to pickup the new album “Snakes and Arrows” right on the day it was released…May 1, 2007…kinda threw me off my game…however, I have made up for lost time…finally pick’d up the new release just last Saturday…and suffice to say…I am especially proud of the boys and their collection of new material…Rush just seems to keep gettin’ better with age…like a good wine…
I have found the entire album (cd) to be a breath of fresh air…the cut “The Larger Bowl” simply put well displays the chemistry within the band we have come to know and respect…
The instrumentals are catchy and flow well…3 instrumentals on one album…Rush you make my heart sing…
I will be catchin’ Rush perform at Red Rocks on August 8th in beautiful Colorado near Denver…that is where I seen them perform last on their 30th anniversary tour…I can’t wait…but I will…and as I count the daze…I’ll be spinnin’ my new Rush disc…daily that is!!!

I have been an avid Rush fan since as long as I can remember. Probably one of the most disapointing times in my life, was when i heard the R30 Tour was the last time they’d be touring. So when I recieved news of the upcoming shows AND album release, I didn’t hesitate. I bought two tickets to the Pittsburgh show in June about a week after release, and purchased the CD days after it’s release as well.
Well, I was not a huge fan of Vapor Trails, because I felt they lost their hard-hitting progressive edge. However, I don’t think i could be more pleasantly surprized at the new album, Snakes and Arrows. Let us just say; Rush is back.

I’m going to the show in Atlanta (the first one). I can’t wait. They always have been one of my favorites. It will be great to kick off the summer with the great Canadians. A lot of people make fun of me because I like rush and they’ve been dulled by the newer jargain but I will stand strong lol.

Well, Rush is your typical love it / hate it band; most people I know have chosen their side long ago. But they still do attract amazing numbers of people these days, don’t they? The final concert of the upcoming tour will be the first time they play in Finland, and Helsinki’s Hartwall Arena (capacity about 14,000) sold out to the last seat in 24 hrs. This from a band that most people still seem ignorant about.
In fact, a Finnish fan who bought his ticket in the smallish city of Lahti the minute sales began (and managed to get a perfect seat, of course) told that the ladies at the counter were bewildered at the pace the tickets were going both on and offline. “We’ve never even heard of this band?! Who are they? We thought no one would come to see them!”
Just goes to show that doing your own thing, no matter what, pays off in the end – the fanaticism of the Rush fan base is probably a consequence of the unyielding work ethic of the band. Heavy touring itself can help, of course, but it was actually a very non-Rush thing in the 1990’s when they preffered to take time for other things. It seems that with Peart’s recovery the whole band seems re-energized, and us Finnish Rushies definitely benefit from that this time around :)
