7th Annual Jammys | Not Going to Happen?

filed under: | tags:

jammys.jpgOur good buddy Bready just sent me a note and brought up an excellent point in the process -- the 2007 Jammys have yet to be announced as an event this year. In fact, there's really no information on this at all, other than the fact that I know it's not going to be at the Knitting Factory. No would-be plans, no possible lineup rumors, no crazy collaboration ideas...nothing.

WHA?!!??!?!?!??!?!

This is a rather huge revelation to a lot of us jamband fans in the room, and I'm actually quite surprised that no one brought it up sooner (including myself). Anyone close to the promoters know what's going on here? Drop some knowledge in the comments to keep us all in the loop.

The Jammys were moved to the Fall bc of the Green Apple Festivals decision to involve San Francisco and Chicago. It spread OUT the artists around the country who would normally be playing at Jammys in NY. So the way i understand it is they are going to do it in the Fall so the (JAM) bands can be apart of it.

Well, I'll tell you one thing -- it's certainly not obvious if you go to the source. Oh well, way to uproot a tradition...

I think I posted this info on your site a few months back. This was definitely discussed.

I'm not happy about it either, but oh well, shit happens.

Yeah we had done a post saying that it was being held at the Knit (as TicketWeb was selling tickets for it) -- and of course, that turned out to be hugely false.

It seems that nothing is even close to confirmed yet and I guess that's rather unfortunate. The community can't really afford to lose such an event.

As I am sure everyone knows on this here blog the promoters/creators of the Jammy's are also the promoters/creators of the Green apple Fest. Last
year was hugley sucessful and this year will be even more, so they decided not to combine the efforts as it became a logistical nightmare. Hence moving the Jammy's to the Fall makes sense.

I for one think it sucks because I love the Jammy's in April (4:20) but as long as the show goes on, i dont really care. GO C THE CHEESE ONE MORE TIME!

I thought I saw something when they announced Green Apple that they were going to hold it in the fall. Especially in light of the fact that the New York Green Apple is not that great, I hope that is the case.
