The 'Chairman' Hits the Road | Page McConnell 2007 Tourdates

Former Phish keyboardist, Page McConnell, has announced some tour dates in support of his debut solo album, which will be released on April 17th. The 'Chairman of the Boards' plans to do a May/June swing through the East and Midwest with his new band that includes Adam Zimmon, Jared Slomoff, Rob O'Dea, and Gabe Jarrett.

Also, if you missed Page's streaming performance from Philly today at noon (ET), it will be archived and available for streaming on NPR after 3 p.m. (ET) today.

05/31 - Avalon, Boston, MA

i recently saw Page perform in philly for the Wxpn Free concert at noon series. I was pleasantly surprised at how much I actually enjoyed the show. He was joined on stage by 4 others (guitar,bass,drums, and another keyboardist).

It was the band's first public performance, and at times you could tell, but overall the band sounded tight. The music was reminiscent of some phish songs, but also had its own funky feel in some regards. I feel that the band will put on quite a show and is worth the price of admission.

I would not expect too many phish covers, as i noticed that he would not even mention the name phish during the show. He did, however, comment on "his old band" and "his old friends". But who knows, Page might mix in some old classics to fill some time. This is his first album after all.
