Tour Dates

Dave Matthews Band, Solo | 2007 Tour Dates

I have a confession to make. I never really understood the hype about Dave. Although “Crash Into Me” was one of my favorite songs in high school (yes, it was because of the overt-yet-somehow-subtle naughtiness of the lyrics and yes, I’m revealing my age here), I never cared one way or another whether I saw him live. Sure, I heard his shows were great, but he just never did for me what he has done for all of those fans out there.

Ah, but then, Dave just so happened to be one of the acts performing at a benefit concert that I went to a few months back. He was only one of a dozen terrific great artists who played their hearts out for the benefit, but his live performance really did reach right in to my body and strum the chords of my heart. And yes, the band played “Crash” and yes, the naughtiness of the lyrics still makes my skin tingle.

So I’m happy to give you the 2007 tour dates for Dave, solo and with the band, also available on their website:

First catch Dave around the world during his first solo tour:
• February 23rd in Newcastle-upon-Tyne, England at Newcastle City Hall
• February 24th in Glasgow, Scotland at the Scottish Exhibition and Conference Centre
• February 26th in Dublin, Ireland at the National Stadium
• February 27th in Belfast, Ireland at Waterfront Hall
• March 1st in Manchester, England at Manchester Apollo
• March 2nd in Oxford, England at New Theatre
• March 4th in Milan, Italy at Teatro del Verme
• March 6th in Paris, France at La Cigale
• March 8th in Frankfurt, Germany at Capitol
• March 9th in Brussels, Belgium at Ancienne Belgique
• March 10th in Amsterdam at Paradiso
• March 12th in Berlin, Germany at Columbiahalle
• March 13th in Cologne, Germany at E-werk
• March 14th in Copenhagen, Denmark at Vega

Then catch the band:
• Only two U.S. Dates: March 23rd and 24th in Vegas at the MGM Grand
• Then off to Australia:
o March 31st in Fremantle at the West Coast Blues and Roots Festival
o April 2nd in Adelaide at the Festival Theatre
o April 4th in South Brisbane at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre
o April 6th in Byron Bay at the East Coast Blues and Roots Festival
o April 10th and 11th in Sydney at the Hordern Pavilion
o April 13th in Melbourne at the Vodafone Arena
• Then around the world:
o May 23rd in Dublin, Ireland at The Point
o May 25th in Lisbon, Portugal at Pavilion Atlantico
o May 27th in Brussels, Belgium at Forest National
o May 30th in London at the Wembley Arena

And if you have any interest in seeing Dave on TV instead of in-person, you can get a glimpse of his acting skills in a March episode of “House” on Fox as well as in a late-year-release movie called “Lake City”.

  6. DMB got me into bands that I wouldn’t have found otherwise (at least not as quickly), such as Phish. And, they led me to start visiting sites like this, especially when I was looking up places to hear Big Cypress (thanks Justin, btw).

    Posted by SJ | February 5, 2007, 10:15 pm
  9. SJ, yes, if you mean the Dave solo version - not the early sister from the early 90s. here’s one of many from antsmarching.org:

  12. thanks for the info - I REALLY appreciate it. I’ve been looking all over for this song and yes it’s the Dave solo version. I’m a technology idiot so FLAC is new to me. I’m going to try your links.

    Posted by sj | February 7, 2007, 7:20 pm
  13. SJ,
Sure thing. Download this tool, Flac Frontend, at http://flac.sourceforge.net/download.html. I like to keep things in flac for the purposes of ensuring quality. If you can’t get it to work, I’ll up an mp3 link. peace.

    Posted by EJ | February 7, 2007, 10:12 pm
  14. erase the period from that link, and it should work.

    Posted by EJ | February 7, 2007, 10:14 pm
  15. HUGE HUGE thank you! The linked worked and I was able to easily listen to the FLAC file.

  17. Wow, I wish Dave would come through the states with a solo tour. To be honest, I was never really a fan when his music was taking off.. but I saw him live at Farm Aid 06 (solo) and he was amazing. Just him and a guitar and had the whole place going. The energy of his guitar playing and his perfectly rough-n-tough voice was awesome. Someone get him to do a solo tour because his band and that violin suck ass.

    Posted by Chris | February 12, 2007, 8:24 am
  18. Is Dave going to do a solo act at Bonnaroo?

  23. Went to see Dave last night in Dublin and it was one of the best shows i’ve been to in years. He played with Tim Ryonolds who is such an amaizing guitarist, he turned it into a violin and a drum on many ocasion, his slide guitar and finger picking were out of this world. Songs included Satilite, Crash, Lie in your graves, Dancing Nancies.Dave talked about his step father and Sister in a way that would make you cry. Dont miss him live

    Posted by Colm | February 27, 2007, 3:51 am
  24. …… continuing with the Dublin gig, what Colm failed to mention was that he was the funniest bloke ever! He had everyone laughing so hard…. he also played for almost three hours and would definately have gone on for longer if he could have….. can’t wait for the band in May. Man’s a legend.

  25. Glad to see Dave out there spreading his music on the other side of the ocean. There’s a chance I could catch the band together in Portugal later on…a long shot, but something I’d love to have happen.

    Posted by EJ | February 28, 2007, 12:20 pm
  26. Does somebody know if Tim Reynolds will be present during the whole Dave Matthew solo tour in Europe?
I’d love to see him playing in Brussels on the 9th of March!!

    Posted by Mix | March 1, 2007, 3:19 am
  27. Chris…you must not have seen his band live yet. Ever seen Pig or Ants Marching performed live? The violin rocks in those and makes the song…listen to the beginning of Pig, one of their many great songs.

  30. Hello everyone, I saw dave and Tim play in newcastle 23rd Feb. Was probably one of the best gigs I have seen for a while. His guitar playing and lyrics are an insperation to me and many others.
Can anyone tell me where to find a review of that particular gig?

  36. jane, who is “he” you speak of? if it’s Dave, then of course, but it’ll probably be with the band. If you mean tim reynolds, then yes, but I don’t know the tour dates (check his website). Check out this site:

  37. DMB what can I say. I saw him in Hershey PA while pregnant with my son. Great experience. My son bounced and kicked the entire time. What a great concert. The BEST

    Posted by Jenaphr | March 13, 2007, 6:50 pm
  38. DOES anyone know when he comes to Hershey PA for summer 2007?

    Posted by Jenaphr | March 13, 2007, 6:51 pm
  39. Jenaphr, I don’t know for certain when the band will be coming to Hershey for the summer….I would tend to think sometime late summer (August 10th is a date I’ve seen rumored). Since Dave’s in Europe now, and DMB will be touring parts of March, April, May, and beginning of June in Australia and back in Europe, the summer tour will probably be shortened from a “normal” year. maybe some fall touring (ala ‘98), winter tour, who knows. hope that helps.

  40. Hey EJ,
thought I’d come back around to bug you since you were so helpful with the FLAC files. Any suggestions on SHN? I’m getting an edit that says missing magic number….trying to download a DMB show from 2005

    Posted by SJ | March 19, 2007, 8:37 pm
  41. SJ,
AH, the magic number. That means that you haven’t completely finished downloading the SHN file. It all depends on which download site your using, so that’s really all the help I could give you for that problem…if you let the whole show finish, you shouldn’t get that error message. And here’s a tip: use this program for your SHN, WAV, etc. files…a must have. http://www.pcworld.com/downloads/file/fid,23936-order,1-page,1-c,alldownloads/description.html

Also, a good place to download DMB/D&T/D&F shows is dreamingtree.org. As long as you seed the shows you’ve already downloaded, to keep your rate up, you should be good to go there.

    Cheers.

    Posted by EJ | March 19, 2007, 10:24 pm
  42. got it. Yes I tried to download a show from antsmarching.org but I didn’t really understand all the directions with SHN files so I wasn’t sure exactly what I was doing.

    Posted by SJ | March 19, 2007, 11:33 pm
  43. so when you go into a site and click download. Shouldn’t I be able to drop into the MKW Audio Compression and then decode to wav? I’m wondering what I’m doing wrong. sorry to bother.

    Posted by SJ | March 19, 2007, 11:50 pm
  44. I woudln’t use antsmarching…when they had there own servers, it was a much better place. Don’t get me wrong, it’s a great site, but dreamingtree.org is where it’s at now for torrents.

as far as the WAV files, yeah, you just drag and drop the SHN file into mkw and it’ll decode it to WAV. the error message usually comes when you haven’t finished downloading the file completely.

    hope that helps.

    Posted by EJ | March 20, 2007, 12:53 am
  45. EJ - help please…I feel like an technology moron. I downloaded the file you suggested as well as winamp and the plug in for shn files. When I click on the download for the show off db.etree I’m getting an error that shuts down the mkw compression program. and then if I try to save it says the file is incomplete. I tried a few so I can’t believe it’s just the shows I’m picking can it?

    Posted by SJ | March 20, 2007, 9:49 pm
  46. SJ, you’re not a tech moron. I had to learn a lot of these little quirks in the system, too, as do many others. I would say to try a different show, that you’ve never downloaded before. Keep mkw closed at this point..no need for it. When you click on the download link, and the pop-up wants to know what to do with the file, select “open file with”…and then choose the bitorrent program. After the file path is downloaded, the bittorrent program should grab the show, and once it’s 100% complete, then decode each individual file (ie. song) with the mkW. That’s really all I know to tell you…hope that helps, SJ. If not, try emailing the people at dreamingtree.org, or go into the antsmarching.org forums and ask around there.

Hope that gets you some results.

    Posted by EJ | March 20, 2007, 10:48 pm
  47. btw, I use Bit Tornado for my torrent downloading software, fyi.

    Posted by EJ | March 20, 2007, 10:49 pm
  48. welll EJ. I think I got it working. Big thanks to you…when you download does it often times take a really long time?

    Posted by sj | March 21, 2007, 1:01 am
  49. good deal…glad it’s working for you. yes, sometimes it does take me a long time to finish a show (on both cable and dsl that I’ve had). but it can be faster, depending on the # of seeders out there who have kept their torrent windows open.

    peace

  53. have the us dates been announced? what is the best way to get tickets?

    Posted by donna | March 28, 2007, 5:50 pm
  54. donna,
The US dates have not been announced, yet. There are a lot of rumors, but nothing else. To get first dibs on tickets, you would want to join the DMB fan club (The Warehouse), or just go on ticketmaster, etc. when the general on sale comes around.

  57. Saw them in Dublin last night in Dublin, what a privilege! was great - I went to NY last year in august just to hear them, was great atmosphere…but yesterday, the fact that the venue was quite small for such a band, the energy levels were astonishing…too bad the Irish don’t get very excited about almost anything…DMB deserved much more of an audience! ASS. a Portuguese in Dublin

  58. “Irish don’t get very excited about almost anything”

You sure you’re in the right country?! That certainly doesn’t sound like the crowd at the DMB gig in Dublin that I was at…
