Gomez 'Five Men' Giveaway

filed under:

Another day, another Live Music Blog giveaway...

Today I'm very psyched that I'll be handing out a copy of the new Gomez release, Five Men In a Hut.

gomez.jpg"Five Men In A Hut (A's, B's & Rarities: 1998-2004), a career-spanning 2-CD set chronicling internationally acclaimed British rock band Gomez's creative history of U.K. singles, B-sides and previously unreleased material will be released October 17. In addition to 18 of Gomez's U.K. singles, the set's band-selected tracks include 16 U.K. B-sides that have never before been released in the U.S. and two previously unreleased studio recordings. You can order through Gomez's store. In addition to 18 of Gomez's U.K. singles, the set's band-selected tracks include 16 U.K. B-sides that have never before been released in the U.S. and two previously unreleased studio recordings."

The giveaway is a copy of Five Men… and any Gomez poster of the winner's choice from the Gomez online store!

To enter: comment here telling me why you want the disc...

I know we're a little past pre-order on this but you should still give this disc a sample as an intro to Gomez at the very least. Their Out West live album is fantastic and I've listened to that thing plenty of times through on my to-and-from home to office.

Is it just me, or doesn't one of the dudes sound nearly exactly like Warren Haynes (not his guitar, his voice)? Anyone with me? Winner will be chosen tomorrow morning at random from the comments; drop that shit, yo!

I just went and saw Gomez at Headliners in Louisville, KY. I must say they rocked my face off and I would love to get my hands on a copy of this new cd release. I saw Gomez at Bonnaroo this year but was not very impressed. They wern't bad they just didn't blow me away like some of the other bands at Bonnaroo. But after last week at Headliners I must say that I am now a Gomez Fan. Please hook a big Gomez fan up with this new CD. It would be really kind, friendly, and cool of you.

Thanks,
Bret Walker

...because I've never listened to Gomez before.

...because I'd rather give Gomez my cash by purchasing a ticket to see them live and grabbing a shirt or two from the merch booth. direct revenue, one two three!

Always was a gomez fan. I read a review announcing their debut album, and ran to the shop. It was love at first hear, and it's still love today.
But there's a special reason why: since their breakup with their former english label, their records are hard to get here in italy, where I live...so, if you will...I'll be happy.

"Well come on in
Come on in and lay me down now
And relax
'Cause the world will collapse with you
Turn your red light into blue
Why do you keep running around like that?
Sit back
'Cause this is gonna take a while
There's no shame in going in out of style
Why do you keep running around like that?"

because i've heard every gomez track released in the US (including some ridiculously good covers) and am dying for more. plus I have a new house which needs some class.

I remember interviewing these guys just before their debut Bring It On hit. They were so young, but not stupid - very down to earth. I've been a fan ever since. A very innovative bunch.
