Live Music Blog Comment Policy

I knew the day would come that I would have to put some more control over the commenting on Live Music Blog. Unfortunately, thanks to spammers, that day is now upon us.

Understand that I'm simply imposing a few simple rules by which I'd hope everyone could follow simply because I want to make sure the Live Music Blog remains a positive experience for all parties involved, including myself. I hate seeing spam more than you do, so I want to keep that outta here...

That being said, I want to make sure that we keep the discussion lively for those readers that keep up with the site. I'm going to open comments on select posts that I feel could have some discussion or conversational merit that might deserve some exploring. If and when I do open comments on the post, it will only be open for (at most) 48 hours. At best. If the spam is bad, I might only keep it open for 24 hours. Please don't email me to ask me to open the discussion back up. If you want to blog about it, send me your link. That's sorta like discussing...

So there ya go...

The Words

1. Comments dropped on the Live Music Blog ("Blog") become the property of the Blog. We are not responsible for the opinions of the comment authors nor the validity, certainty, or accuracy of anything written by anyone other than the blog authors. And for that matter, we're hardly responsible for the validity, certainty, or accuracy of our stuff either. It's tough like that...

2. I don't have time to edit your comment once you leave it on the site. Please reread what you want to post before you click "post." That would help a bunch. Yeah, thanks.

3. If I don't like your comment, I reserve the right to delete it if I do not see that it fits in with general discussion or the tone of the post. For example, if I post about how I think that Random Music Festival sounds cool and you're like, "Cool post, come see my photos of something totally unrelated!" I'll probably just delete it. This is your first, second, and third (and final) warning.

4. Please remember that whatever you write should be something value-added. This stuff stays on the internets forever, ya'll! I'd hate it if you dropped something in the comments like, "whoah, at this festival I was super wasted and all that good stuff..." and then regret it. I'd probably just delete something like that anyways. Reread #3 if you've got a problem with that.

5. Let's try to keep our criticism constructive, especially when warmly providing constructive criticism to our fellow commenters. For real, ya'll!
