JamBase is reporting a last-minute change in venue for two of the last four East Coast Big Summer Classic dates. So for all of you fine folks headed to the New York and Connecticut shows, take a memo on your Newtons:
The 7/21 Brooklyn show originally scheduled for Coney Island's Keyspan Park will now take place at the Prospect Park Bandshell. I'm sure Prospect Park will play good host to the BSC, but after seeing the popular rock band Phish there for two nights in June 2004, this is a little bit of a bummer.
And the 7/24 show originally scheduled for Yale Field will now take place at Ives Concert Park in Danbury, CT. Unlike Keyspan, I have no personal experience with Connecticut, so draw your own damn conclusions.
Despite the venue changes, I'm sure this mini-festival will still rip your face off and eat it raw. I don't even know what that means.

Ace: you'll have an unbelievably good time at this show. This festival was really well done, so I'm psyched to see if they try and continue the Big Summer tradition into 2006.
You will hear it here first, though. Big Summer Classic will definitely be a tour in 2006. I bet SCI will headline...
I don't know, J...this venue change is a bad sign. I'm pretty sure they'd cancel these shows, but it might mean the ultimate death of the mediocre jam tour.
Went to Danbury last night and had a blast! The venue was chill under a canope of trees, and the crowd for such a quickly relocated show was on like I hoped. Even better the 50 and other such pig types were nowhere to be seen, and no problems (that I saw) seemed to put any bad memories of the show.... oh yeah Cheese had to stop playing at 10 Conn. state law (sucks!), but you could also legally bring in any coolers and beer that you wanted (cans only)... oh yeah again... the music was kick ass as usual with spearhead walking amungst the crowd and Keller pleasing every-sole in it! Dope, dope, dope!

okay, my bf goes to big summer classic and i want to get him tickets .. anyone know how i go about this?. i listen to country mnusic and no nothing of this sooooo i could use help/
Erin: if your boyfriend went to the Big Summer Classic tour last year, I'm sure he had a blast. Check BigSummerClassic.com in the next couple months and I'm sure they'll be announcing the 2006 stuff.
