Madonna’s big Super Bowl halftime show was just the precursor to her return to the music business this year with a huge world tour. Late yesterday the news hit the wire that a full world tour was being planned, with Tel Aviv getting the “opener” honors before the show moves onto Abu Dhabi, Instanbul, Croatia, Milan, Berlin and beyond. The tour moves state side at the end of August for a few months in US arenas. Tickets in many of the markets start going on sale this weekend.
I’m also expecting some Skrillex remixes (or something like it) to be announced soon enough… READ MORE

With their new album, Be the Void, dropping next week, Dr. Dog is out in force on the promo and touring circuit. I’ve already been digging some tunes off of their new record, thanks to a nice exclusive from Team Coco, and I also just came across this full live stream they did at on NPR at the World Cafe. Spiritualized have announced a set of tour dates in May that will take them across our fair states; the tour will set down in Minneapolis on May 2 and will weave its way East, South and then West to finally end up in Vancouver on 5/26. I still to this day have never caught this band and I feel like I’m regretting it more and more. When they roll through San Francisco at the end of the tour (when they’re firing on all cylinders) I’ll definitely be as close as I can be at the Fillmore to hear the space gospel at its best.

Brothers Past @ Brooklyn Bowl | photo by WHITperson
After catching last Friday’s smokin’ Brooklyn Bowl show, I’m now back on a solid Brothers Past kick and couldn’t pass up this week’s news. The band has announced a new set of spring tour dates, adding onto their previously-announced Midwestern tour in February, along with a bunch of 2012 festival slots (including the Aura Music Festival, The Rock and Roll Resort, the Mantrabash, and Camp Barefoot….uber heady). With the news yesterday that Radiohead would be one of the two-weekend headliners at Coachella 2012, it was only fitting that the other West Coast dates finally started to get announced. They’ve added dates all over the world, actually, but the West Coast dates are the ones I care about. I’m a little bummed of the band playing in San Jose as their choice for the Bay Area, but driving a few hours to see this band will forever be a safe bet. Can’t wait to see their new stage show this year.
