Anticipation has been high for Lotus to return to Colorado since their memorable Fourth of July show at Red Rocks. The band came back with a bang, bringing a stellar performance to one of downtown Denver’s largest indoor venues, The Fillmore. With a big crowd came a lot of energy that the five part ensemble fed off of all night, mixing old favorites like “Spaghetti,” “Nematode,” and “Spiritualize” with new tracks like “Massif” and a rockin’ cover of Deadmau5′s “Ghosts N’Stuff.”
The band was kind enough to hook us up with some video passes so stay tuned for the sweet video coverage to come. In the meantime, here are some photos for a glance at the show. All photos by Grayson Simon and Patrick Hagan.

Big band Brooklynites Rubblebucket sold out the Bowery Ballroom this past Saturday night, and though they haven’t quite broken into the mainstream scene, their constant touring schedule and years of festival appearances make them a pretty well known name in every scene they fit with. From jam to funk to indie to trance, these young musicians bring a whole new musical perspective to melding influences. READ MORE

Last night, I caught a killer Brothers Past show at Brooklyn Bowl. Unlike the last time the band played the Bowl during an epic 2010 snowstorm, BP had a huge turnout for this one. The band really stepped up their game last night, delivering a solid two-set dance throwdown for the NYC crowd. I snapped a few photos and thought I’d post them up along with the setlist and some vids from YouTube. READ MORE

Phish is about to begin night two down at MSG but we’ve got our shots from night one courtesy of our good buddy Nick Irving. You’ve seen his work here plenty of times and he’s given us a huge set from last night; I love how this gives that good mix of what you’d hope to see at a show…. the band up front, the light show, and lit-up arena rock moments. Makes me feel like I was there…
Thanks to Nick Irving for bringing his gear down to MSG to shoot the Phish show for us last night. Stay tuned to the site and our friends at @CoventryMusic, @PeteLikesPhish and @YEMblog for updates from the show. READ MORE
On Sunday night, I caught a fantastic show by the War on Drugs at Bowery Ballroom with Still Corners and Arc in Round opening. I was able to nab a few decent photos and — thanks to Sam of Dog Gone Blog who I hung with for most of the show — we’ve also got a couple decent videos. Check it out… READ MORE
