Bonnaroo 2010: Conan O’Brien, Aziz Ansari, Doug Benson and More Announced

Yesterday was a big news in the comedy world with Conan O’Brien announcing that he’s taking his former lineup at The Tonight Show — namely himself, Andy Richter, and The Tonight Band with Max Weinberg — all on the road for a huge cross-country tour. Right around the same time I got this news and snagged myself a ticket for one of his dates in San Francisco, the promoters over at Bonnaroo had announced their Comedy Tent headliners for the 2010 festival. Guess who’s at the top of the bill?

The festival will welcome some of the most hilarious personalities working today, including Conan O’Brien, who not only will be performing in the Comedy Theatre, but will also be MCing the What Stage on Friday and Saturday.

The all-new Nateva Festival has announced a number of additions to its 2010 lineup, including: STS9, George Clinton & Parliament Funkadelic, Umphrey’s McGee, Max Creek, John Brown’s Body, The Felice Brothers, Ryan Montbleau Band, Giant Panda Guerilla Dub Squad, and Greensky Bluegrass.

Now it’s looking a lot more like a solid substitute for Rothbury.

The second annual Harvest of Hope Foundation Music and Arts Festival has announced the schedule for their massive 2010 lineup.

HOH 2010 takes place March 12-14th at the St. Johns County Fairgrounds in St. Augustine, Florida. The Harvest of Hope Foundation is a nonprofit organization that provides financial, educational, and service oriented aid to migrant farm workers all over the country.

Another new festival for the Northeast!?! Yep.

Shireworks Productions has announced “the Big Up,” a 3-day music festival at Sunnyview Farm in Ghent, NY, on June 17-19 2010. Their inaugural lineup for 2010 includes Marco Benevento Trio, OTT, Telepath, and RAQ (in what they’re claiming will be the band’s only festival appearance for 2010).

Unlike the other new Northeastern fest (Nateva), this one appears to be launching as a smaller, more intimate kind of festival. Despite the smaller size, Big Up will feature performances on two outdoor and two indoor stages and no overlapping sets.

The Disco Biscuits have announced the initial lineup for Camp Bisco 9, their three-day festival in Mariaville, NY slated for the weekend July 15-17, 2010. As with previous Camp lineups, the festival will feature three nights of the Disco Biscuits and an eclectic mix of bands and DJs loosely geared towards electronic dance music.

It has been a lot of fun to watch this festival grow over the years from tiny Bisco and “jamtronic” showcase to a powerhouse Northeastern festival bringing in the likes of LCD Soundsystem and Thievery Corporation. The Biscuits have always pushed their growth in a slow and steady manner, and it looks like their patience is continuing to pay off with a huge 2010.

Tickets are $135 for all three days and are available online, at FYE ticket outlets, or by phone at 1-800-594-TIXX. This year, the festival is pushing a few key enhancements, like a second stage on the main field, a better spot for the DJ and late night dance tent, and surround sound.
