The Sasquatch Music Festival has released their 2012 lineup, and as usual, it’s a doozy. Headliners included Beck, Bon Iver, Jack White, Pretty Lights, Tenacious D and The Shins, all amongst a virtual who’s who of the best independent artists playing today. In case you missed it, the lineup for this year’s Snowball Music Festival was announced recently and it’s totally nuts. Any festival set in Vail, Colorado would be something to pay attention to regardless, and this year the promoters went all-out on the talent by snagging Snoop Dogg, Bassnectar, Rusko, TV on the Radio, Big Boi, Major Lazer and quite a few others that we’ve been paying attention to for a while. More colossal news coming in today for Jazz Fest 2012 as organizers announced the addition of Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band to close out the first weekend of the Festival on Sunday, April 29. This news comes the day after it was announced that Pearl Jam’s Eddie Vedder will play a solo show on Thursday, May 3. Bruce’s return had been speculated for months after he revealed that the band would be returning to the road after the loss of saxophonist Clarence Clemons in summer 2011 to tour in support of their new album Wrecking Ball which will be out in early-March. Additionally, now that the talent lineups (subject to change of course) are locked up, NOJHF announced the daily schedules for this year’s festival, enabling out-of-towner fans and to start making some concrete plans and Jazz Fest loyalists amongst the local crowd to decide how many days off will be necessary this year.

The Louisville, Kentucky-based Forecastle Festival will celebrate its 10th anniversary with hometown heroes My Morning Jacket headlining and curating the musical festivities. The three-day event takes place July 13 – 15, 2012, at Louisville’s Waterfront Park. READ MORE

In case you missed it, the lineup for this year’s Wakarusa Music Festival was finalized late last week. Topping the bill is a solid eclectic mix with Pretty Lights, The Avett Brothers and Primus all set to headline the festival, with LMB favorites Umphrey’s Mcgee, Girl Talk, Ghostland Observatory, Big Gigantic, EOTO, Orgone, Blitzen Trapper and tons more joining them to round out the festival’s ninth year in operation.

In cased you missed it, Wilco has announced that its own three-day Solid Sound Festival will be officially taking 2012 off, but will return in 2013. The next Solid Sound Festival will take place June 21-23, 2013, at MASS MoCA in North Adams, MA. However, the band will still be performing a 2012 benefit show for Mass MoCa at the North Adams, MA museum this summer (exact date still TBA). READ MORE
