
Every time I seem to step into The Arch Street Tavern the music that Nectar’s Presents puts on is always pretty damn good no matter to genre or the scene. pH Factor was on stage as I arrived to the club on Wednesday evening. Anticipation has been high for Lotus to return to Colorado since their memorable Fourth of July show at Red Rocks. The band came back with a bang, bringing a stellar performance to one of downtown Denver’s largest indoor venues, The Fillmore. With a big crowd came a lot of energy that the five part ensemble fed off of all night, mixing old favorites like “Spaghetti,” “Nematode,” and “Spiritualize” with new tracks like “Massif” and a rockin’ cover of Deadmau5′s “Ghosts N’Stuff.”

Big band Brooklynites Rubblebucket sold out the Bowery Ballroom this past Saturday night, and though they haven’t quite broken into the mainstream scene, their constant touring schedule and years of festival appearances make them a pretty well known name in every scene they fit with. Last night, I caught a killer Brothers Past show at Brooklyn Bowl. Unlike the last time the band played the Bowl during an epic 2010 snowstorm, BP had a huge turnout for this one. The band really stepped up their game last night, delivering a solid two-set dance throwdown for the NYC crowd.
